Hi,

I am a Junior ILite. I have a query regarding posting threads. I started 2 new threads. I am able to view them if i go to that particular section, and also can see the count of members who have viewed it. Still if i click "new posts" or "Todays posts" my thread is not displayed in the resulting list of posts.Ofcourse my previous posts are there. Still few of my recent posts dont appear in the search list for new or today's post. Why is it so?

Here i found one more problem. I was joined in one of the threads "October mommies due date clubs". I see that, whatever the posts that i enter in that thread i am unable to see my post count is not changing. This thing not only mine, in that thread i have see other ladies posts also, their post count also not increased.
Why?
Is something wrong with that thread over there? or something wrong my user id...

Hi Cindhuja,

Let me first tell you the logic how the 'New Posts' or 'Today's posts' displays a thread listing. It displays those threads that had the latest posts, irrespective of when the thread got started. So the threads with the latest post gets displayed first in the list - descending order of latest posts.

In your case of the 2 new threads you started, it might not have received any latest posts, or in other words there would have been many other threads in the site that has more latest posts than those in your threads.

Within the respective forum too, the same logic applies - threads with latest post or new posts get listed on top. But since there the threads belonging to that topic are only listed you are able to easily find them in the 1st page.

I guess you are referring to this thread - Hello October 2008 Mommies!!

Please refer the test post I made there. My post count (as of now) shows as 1626, will become 1627 as I respond to this query of yours. Post counts of a member shown on the top right of any of their post in any thread/forum is the latest total post count at any point of time.

There is no issues with the post count. Also they are not specific to any thread. They are the overall total and it keeps counting all posts except for the posts made in forums like Games, Forward Messages & Jokes and Wishes.
