I find a lot of self added entries in the Directory. Is this allowed in IL?

Thanks for asking this question. Let me clarify something to those soliciting in the forums referring to their directory entries via answering your question.

Self added entries are allowed in the Directory. Period.

However, it is NOT allowed to keep referring in the forum posts to the entry in the directory like:

1. Refer my directory entry for my contact details
2. Please see my listing in the directory to know about the work from home business/job I offer

Directory entries are separate listing about the business you own, the external blog you own, etc. Those who look-up the directory if interested in what you own, will be contacting you. It functions stand-alone.

They cannot be used as an indirect self-promotional tool to promote your business/blog/site within the forums by referring to the listing within the forums.

One cannot direct attraction to the listing by referring to it in the forums.

Thanks Malathy. This was my understanding as well of the IL directory.

Hence, directing a member to a entry in the IL directory is the same as self promotion. Could you please add this point in Ask Questions to Induslady about IL Directory ? I find a lot of such diverting posts in the Hobbies and Indian Woman Entreprenueurs forum.
