Information : How do you rate members' threads?

Dear Friends,

IL has mountains of information and many members share whatever they have to make this place much more interesting. In order to motivate our friends who open various threads, ratings can be given by us. The rating can range from 5 signifying excellent to meaning Terrible...

The more the number of votes and rating, the more interesting the contents would be.

Now how do rate the thread? Here's is a pictorial representation. Took the liberty of taking a snapshot of IndusLady's post to complete the tutorial . The rating link is found on the top of the thread.



Click on the RATE THREAD, and you would see this....



Choose the rating you prefer to give and click on VOTE NOW. Now your rating is added

Sorry about attending to this thread this late. Somehow I missed it though not intentional.

Appreiciate your effort in posting this thread with a vivid explanation along with a pictorial presentation of how to do it.

I am moving this thread to FAQ forum and include a link for this in FAQ index. That way it is available for reference and useful to all members(existing and those joining new). That forum is the best fit for this kind of thread and why restrict it to 'general discussions in India' forum alone.

thank u sharada for letting us know about rating a thread. also thank u malathi for putting it in the FAQ. i have one more question for u malathy, should i rate a thread always, or is it optional. also i found thumbs up and down in few threads how does this happen and what does that mean and who can do that ??? can u tell me. i donot if i can post this query in this thread. thanx in advance.

Hi Shree,

1. Rating threads is optional.

2. When you try to respond to a thread, right below the text box you will see a set of icons including the thumbs up/down icons. You can select any icon you wish and it shows in front of the subject line of your post.
