Default Natural Moisturizers and Skin Tips

Can you ladies reccommend some natural moisturizers?

I have had a long problem with cystic acne (very large and deep pimples) and have started to use pure lemon juice on the cysts. This is drying my skin some. I also have some blackheads on my nose and my cheeks that will not go away? Is there something for this?

What is a good thing that is natural that will help to moisturize the skin?

Many thanks.

Dear Glitter,

I got this information from a website when I was surfing.

Some of the ingredients that can be used in a home remedy for extremely dry skin are honey, yogurt, olive oil, and oatmeal. Some herb teas are useful, too, as are a variety of other fruits and seeds.

Honey, a dry skin natural remedy, is a substance that is healing to the skin. When applied to the skin it is healing and moisturizing. It helps dead skin cells move from the surface and stimulates renewal and regrowth of skin tissues. It is also antibacterial. In severe cases, you can put honey on skin that needs a bandage. It will keep the bandage from sticking to the wounded skin. Yogurt can be used as a skin cleanser, acting as a natural moisturizer. Oatmeal heals and soothes dry skin, and helps the skin to slough off dead skin cells and olive oil works as an emollient, which means it soothes and softens.

The following home remedy for dry skin is a soothing facial mask that can be made from ingredients in your kitchen. Combine an egg yolk with a tablespoon of mayonnaise or yogurt and and another tablespoon of honey. If you use yogurt, add a 1/2 tsp. of almond oil. Apply to skin lightly and let it dry. Wash off gently with warm water. Another healing facial mask that is a remedy for extremely dry skin is to beat an egg and add oat flour to it. You can make oat flour by whizzing oatmeal around in the blender. Spread the mixture on your face and relax for 10 minutes before gently washing it away. Always treat your delicate dry skin with the utmost of care.

For the black heads and pimples you can use a mixture of kasturi haldi and rakta chandan if available in your area. It gives good results although it takes some time. I have tried this before when I had lots of pimples on my face, and I got good results though it took sometime.

Default To treat black heads...

Glitter,

Jaya has already gave you good suggestions about moisturizers. I would want to suggest a simple hometrick for acnes.

If acne is left untreated, they may cause blackheads.

To loosen blackheads, combine equal parts baking soda and water in your hand and rub gently on your skin for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Note: Careful with the quantity of baking soda, it might burn your skin if applied without equal dilution using water.

Default Thank You

Jaya: Thank you for all the wonderful information :)

A question about using Honey: would I brush it on with my finger tips? How long do I leave the honey on and do I wash it off?

jyoti: Thank you for that tip. I have tried using Baking Soda for many months but have not seen an improvement. It just dried my skin out a lot. I did not notice that it took the deposit out of the blackhead. But I know that some things don't work for people.

Dear Glitter,

I have not tried so far with honey. But I have copied this information.
You can try that if you want.

A tablespoon of honey whisked together with an egg white, 1 teaspoon of glycerin and about 1/4 cup of flour makes an excellent firming mask. Just smooth on the face, leave on 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. You will be pleased with the results.
* Honey also makes a great moisturizing pack. Just mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 teaspoons of whole milk, smooth over the face and throat, and let it do its job for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, and finish splashing with cold water.
* Honey also makes a great lotion for dry patches of skin on hands, elbows, or other parts. Just mix 1 teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of olive oil or vegetable oil and a 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply to hands, elbows, heels of your foot, etc., and wash off after 15 minutes. Fast relief!

Love
Jaya

Default Honey is good for moisturizing...

Honey is good for moisturizing all types of skins.

You wanna try this...

Mix 1 tspn honey, 1 egg yolk, 1 tspn Vit E oil and 1 tspn almond oil. Keep stirring till it becomes a smooth. Apply on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Then wash with warm water.

Egg yolk is said to contain anti-oxidants that are very good for skin.

PS: Be careful while applying this mask, you may want to avoid your eyebrows/lashes - since honey is said to grey hair!
