Default Olive oil for shiny skin

I have heard that olive oil applied to skin gives a good shine. Is it true?
Can it be applied?

Luv,
Simi.

Default Olive oil is good for dry skin

Simi,

Olive oil is good on skin, particularly on dry skin. Also it will heal stretch marks.

You can also try this if you are interested...make a paste by mixing olive oil and smashed avocados. Apply it like a mask on the face for 10- 15 mins.
Then rinse it. You will find it moistens the skin and gives a shine.

PS: Use extra virgin olive oil, for the others are chemically processed.

Olive oil is really good for skin.

I got rid of the scar in my face that I had due to stitches.
It requires constant applying for few months together for results

Looks like applying Olive oil to the skin protects it from harmful effects of Sun too.

I just checked out some website links listed on the leftmost of this page and found lots of benefits of olive oil to skin.

Thumbs up Try this...olive oil based face scrub

Take 2 tspn of sugar and mix it in 4 to 5 drops of olive oil into a paste.
This makes a good face scrub. Apply it on your face and keep massaging in circular motion for 4 to 5 mins.

Rinse of your face with luke warm water. It leave the skin clear.

Post Try almond oil

You can try almond oil too, if you have a dry skin. That helps in keeping the skin clear and moist.

Default Try Bertolli brand...

Hi Jayana,

With so many brands of Olive oil being available in the US departmental stores, it is very natural for one to get confused with which one to go.

Laksn is right, you need to go in for an extra virgin olive oil (it is considered to be the pure form) for using on your skin or for cooking.

I have tried a few brands and finally settled with BERTOLLI brand. It is a brand imported from Italy. As you may be aware, Italians and Spanish go for Olive oil more than anybody else.

Laksn, that was good link to usage of Olive oil. I definitely want to try a few methods. Thanks.

Rathi
