    Hi everybody,

I happened to read about few nutritious ways of protecting skin from UV rays. Thought it's worth sharing it here.

Reddish-orange foods like tomatoes and watermelon increases skin protection against harmful UV rays. They are rich in vitamins like beta-carotene and lycopene that settle in skin's outer layer, helps repair cells damaged by sunlight.

Vitamin C is vital for body's production of collagen, a building block for healthy skin. Less collagen means less elasticity and more wrinkles [IMG] .
Include more Red Capsicum (bell peppers) in your diet, they are said to contain three times more vitamin C than oranges.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential components of skin cells that help reduce puffiness. Salmon fish and eggs are found to be top sources of omega-3.

Eating as little as 1 tspn of citrus each week reduces the risk of skin cancer. Lemons, oranges and grape fruits contain antioxidant called d-limonene known to reduce skin cancer.

So looks like SPF 45 isn't the only way to protect our skin in summer. There's UV fighting weaponary stationed in our fridge too.

Hope these tips are useful to manage this summer!

    Wishes,
    Sonu

Use this sun-screen lotion from kitchen!

In addition to the nutritious ways to protect skin in summer, try applying this sun screen lotion from the kitchen. No chemicals, so no harm

Prepare a mixture of cucumber juice, glycerine and rose water. Apply this mixture on face. This mixture can be refrigerated and used.
