| Hi Sujakalyan! Nothing can beat the spectacles when it comes to comfort, especially when comparing with contact lens. The pros of contact lens if you prefer it at any cost- 1.Go for soft disposable lens(will get 12 pairs for 12 mths) which are hygenic and causes minimum problems if right sort of lens care is taken. 2.Retains your beauty. Cons- 1.Reddening of eyes may be there if you wear it beyond the stipulated hours. 2.If you travel in a car with windows open or on a 2 wheeler, you need to be careful as there is a chance of the lens flying off or moving to a wrong place in your eyes thus causing eye irritation and watering. 3.There is a chance of its getting lost while you are putting them on since ii is very thin. 4.It can cause head aches too! 5.It will involve recurring expenditure on cleaning/storing solution. Depending on your age,(if you are below 45, you can think of laser correction which would cost about Rs.40,000/- in India for both eyes together. Once this is done neither you need to wear spectacles nor lens! Good luck for whatever means you choose to get your optimal vision!

| Hi Sujakalyan, Contact lens they say helps to maintain eye power so it is better to use it.If you are going anywhere in the car or two wheeler wear sun glasses. Clean your lens properly and be careful with them. When you wear or clean them make sure the fan is not on and sit in one place with the mirror, lens and solution before you start the process.Tell me how it works out and Good Luck, Janani ![]() |

| Dear Suja, I am wearing Lenses since more than 7 years now. For the first 3 months I was very uncomfortable because you have a foreign object in your eyes There are certain precautions associated with the lenses which initially you feel extra burden but later they become part of your everyday routine like your brushing the teeth or taking bath or anything else for that matter. But my advice to you would be that dont wear the lenses more than 12 hours a day. Keep a small bottle of lens cleaner with you. If you have to wear them more than 12 hours anyday, remove and clean them once and wear again. If you face any kind of trouble, immediately remove them and consult the doctor. Some eyes just dont accept the lens. And if you keep on wearing them your eyes will be affected. The below site can clear some of your doubts:- Contact Lens - Articles dedicated to useful contacts lens information Hope it helps All the best! |

| Dear suja! If u r going for contact lens - here's my experience- I've been using it for the past 13 years ie since 1994. absolutely no problems & since then my power has not changed. The problem of eye swelling & irritation as suggested by our friend persists when u go for ' soft' lenses. but as far as i am concerned i am using 'semi soft 'lenses. these days i remove only when i go to sleep in the night. the life time of it is upto 2 years and if maintained properly can be used upto 3 years. but the only problem is u can't rub ur eyes when some dust goes inside ur eyes. but this is not the case with soft lenses. But , for all types of lenses, whenever u drive/ go on a dusty/ polluted road it's always better to wear a plain glass.. hope these info would be of somehelp to u. regards ksv. |
