How to pluck eyebrows

HOW TO PLUCK EYEBROWS:

1. To avoid any redness or swelling, do this a day before. If doing it the same day then prefer doing it in the morning time as this way the puffiness and the redness caused has a chance to subside before you apply any makeup.
2. Brush your brows in a natural shape with the help of eyebrow brush or a toothbrush.
3. Don 't over-pluck your eyebrows and don 't pluck above the eyebrows, as it will look strange.
4. Use a good quality and sharp tweezer otherwise the hair will break instead of being pulled out and this may cause an infection.
5. Pull one hair at a time, gripping it firmly and pull it out in the direction in which it grows.
6. Try to pluck your eyebrows little at a time so as to avoid any swelling or pain.
7. Numb the skin with a teething gel before you start plucking, as it will not hurt much.
8. Before plucking, soften your eyebrows with a shaving cream or hair conditioner.
9. Take a warm cloth soaked in hot water and lay it on your brows for 2-3 minutes before plucking as this helps in opening the pores and thus make the plucking easy.
10. The area between the brows is less sensitive, hence pluck the stray hairs from this region first as it will cause less pain.
11. Start plucking from underneath the eyebrow, working from the inside, by the nose, to the outside.
12. Now check your eyebrow balance in the mirror.
13. Apply warm petroleum jelly to your brows after plucking so as to get relieve from any skin irritation.

You can also spray brush with hair spray to keep the hair up. In order to get that groomed look you should coat the hair with clear mascara. And if you want that dramatic look then you should coat your hair with dark mascara.

Brow Pencil
Brow pencils are used to fill in those unwanted gaps in your eyebrows if there is any. With the help of an eyebrow pencil you should apply the light feathery strokes in order to draw in each hair. Begin at the bottom of your hair follicle and draw upward following the hair direction. Then brush with the Brow brush to blend in the eyebrow pencil, again working upward and outward.

EYEBROW TWEEZING:

If there is any confusion regarding the perfect shape of your brows then go for tweezing as over-plucking can mean those lost hairs may never grow back. These can subtleties make a great difference.

Tweezing

• Use an eyebrow pencil or a concealer to mark that perfect shape of your brows
• Then tweeze the hair outside this area. Start with taking a few hair from one brow and then from the other.
• You should soothe with your toner or witch hazel to close the pores.
• You can make it almost pain free by tweezing them after taking a shower, a facial or after steaming your face.
• You should tweeze at least thirty minutes before you start applying make-up.

Accurate Tweezing
You should develop the habit of checking your brows periodically in order to maintain the perfect shape of your brows. You should tweeze few hairs from one brow and then from the other so that they remain symmetrical.

• Firstly brush the hair in the direction of hair growth.
• Then isolate the hair you are about to tweeze.
• Always tweeze in the direction of hair growth.

• Make sure that you pull gently and smoothly, making sure not to yank.
• Remember that it is better to tweeze too little than too much.

• While choosing a shade it is best to choose the shade that matches your hair color.

High Forehead:
Take out only one or two hairs as the arch should only be slightly elevated.

Low Forehead:
You should keep the arch of your eyebrow low so leave in one or two extra hairs.

A Round Face:

You should arch your brows slightly higher as it gives the illusion of more length; take out three or four extra hairs. Edge Arched eyebrows provides the round face with the required little sharpness.

A Long Face:
Keep the arch low as it helps in giving an illusion of more width to the face. The style is similar to one used in the low forehead case.

Close Set Eyes:
You should tweeze a few more extra hairs at the beginning of the brow as it helps to create more space.

Wide Set Eyes:
You should avoid plucking extra hair. Instead you should leave in a couple hairs at the beginning of the brow to create less space.

Oval faces:
Any shape suits well on the person with this face cut but curved eyebrows look exceptional.

Square and Rectangle Face:
Square and rectangle shaped faces do well with round eyebrows just as well. Round shaped eyebrows have a softer more innocent look.

• Now take an eye pencil under the brow and follow the brow line out to the edge of the eye.
• Use powder sponge to gently press some powder on top to soften the line.
• Then use a brush to lightly fill it in with shadow.

Straggly Eyebrows

• Try tidying your brows with regular tweezing sessions.
• The ideal time after a bath, when your pores will be open from the heat, so the hairs will be easier to remove.
• Before bedtime is also a good idea, as you don't have to face the day with reddened skin.
• Eyebrow Color
• You may use eyebrow powder or pencil to define your brows
• Apply powder, with an eyebrow brush and dust it through your brows. Take extra care not to sweep it onto the surrounding skin. This helps in giving your brows a natural effect, and requires little blending.
• You may also use a well-sharpened pencil. Taking care not to press too hard, draw on tiny strokes otherwise the finished effect will be unnatural. Now soften the lines you have made with the eye pencil by lightly stroking a clean cotton bud through your brows.
