Laser surgery

Hi All,
Has anyone tried laser sugery?? If so could u pls post ur feedback??
And also other details like how much would it cost and which place have you got the procedure done??

I had lasik eye surgery done a couple of years back in India and have no problems so far with my vision. I had shortsightedness (power of 1.5 in one eye and 2 in other). It was very short procedure and will experience irritation for a couple of days. After 6-7 weeks of eye-drops, blurring had gone completely and had clear vision. I was so glad to throw away those heavy glasses sitting on the nose and contact lens case and those lens cleansing solutions. What a relief!! Go and take advantage of the technology!

Can you tell me which hospital did you have ur surgery and how much did it cost??

I got it done in Eye Foundation in Coimbatore costing around Rs.22000/- . That was a couple of years back.

Is the surgery painful and how many hours does it take and after how long can you open the eyes which has undergone laser.

Half an hour before the surgery, I was given a pain-killer and then my eyes were cleaned and I supposed they sprayed some medicine into the eyes( I guess it is some anesthesia though I am not very sure). Then the lasik procedure was just 10-15 min. After that there was some irritation and watering for 5-6 hours. My eyes were covered for protection. It was a simple outpatient procedure.No pain but slight discomfort.

When was the eye cover removed

The eye cup was removed the next day morning after the lasik procedure.Then there were a few follow-up tests and sent home with eye drops to administer and precautions to observe for 6 weeks. Then a checkup followed after 1 month. That's it!!!

Right topic at the right time.
I wanted to ask you some Qs. Did they do any preoperative tests for your ayes? How do they ascertain that you are a suitable candidate for the surgery ? did you have any asigmatism corrections done along with corrections for myopia(short sightedness)? What is the age limit and power limit for this surgery?
