| Rogo, My friend recently got her contact lens through her eye specialist. I guess doctors will have sample lens (new ones) to show the patients and if the patients like they could order through the doctor. Or you could buy in some optical shops. 2. Insurance coverage depends upon the plan that we take. 3. Regarding the cost I am not sure, my friend paid about 35$ for a pair of lens which has to be disposed every month. Hope this helps.

| Rogo, My daughter has been wearing soft disposable contacts (biweekly) since she turned fourteen. As a mother who kept track of her vision needs my suggestions to you are: 1. It depends on the type of your insurance if vision benefits are covered 2. You can go either to an optometrist OR an Optholmologist. 3. It works cheaper to go to an optometrist if your insurance doesn't cover vision 4. stores like Hour Eyes etc. have deals every so often where you get a contact lens check up and a years supply for 99$ 5. if you decide to go to an opthalmologist, then just get the prescription and try to order online. Local suppliers are expensive. 6. if you have Costco membership then they have an onsite optometrist and you also can order your contacts there. Soft disposable lenses are very safe. |
