I found this while surfing the net and thought to share with you all. Hope you enjoy it ! :-) :-)
Different styles of saree draping for wedding<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

A woman experiences sense of luxury when she wears a saree. A saree when draped properly makes a woman look more stylish, elegant, graceful and sensuous. Draping saree in perfect style requires a lot of practice. A perfectly draped saree makes personality but clumsily draped saree can equally bring down the look of the saree and spoil the whole appearance of a woman.

The beauty of the saree is enhanced by the way it is draped. Here are some styles that shouldn't need a 'how-to' guide.
This allows free movement while covering the legs.

Gujarathi Style:Gujarati style of wearing a saree requires the pallu to be draped artistically in the front rather than over the shoulder. Sarees with eye-catching magnificent pallus are best worn in this style

Bengali Style: Bengali style of wearing a sari has no pleats and the pallu has a bunch of keys that falls over the shoulder.

Maharashtra Style:The women of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Maharashtra wear a nine-yard saree called Nauvari. It is worn like a dhoti at the bottom while the upper portion is worn like a normal saree with the pallu tucked in the waist.

Coorgi style:Coorgi style of Karnataka, draping a saree involves tying the pleats in the rear instead of the front and a small portion of the pallu is placed over the shoulder

Tamilian style : Tamilians wrap saree around the waist, the pleats are positioned along the left leg. The rest of the sari is taken over the left shoulder, wrapped once again round the waist and tucked on the left side

Hi Friends,

I am getting married next week-nov 19th...I need some tips on posing for pictures during my wedding and reception. I tend to keep talking to someone or stare at the camera without smiling or showing all my teeth and dont know how to pose for pictures :-( Since I am going to preserve these pictures for my lifetime please help me with your suggestions....

Also,I am little anxious about the way I look. I was looking very sick in my engagement pictures-thin with cheeks stuck to my face. Any tips on making my face look chubby will be helpful...

I wanted to have my hair loose for my reception but the beautician says it will be difficult to manage with the garland and stuff. but somehow am not liking the hairstyles she has and I think i will look better with hair loose. Has anyone of you tried loose hairstyle for your reception?
My reception saree is deep maroon with orange border-silk with designer work-vastrakala from pothys. I am little confused on whether I should pin up the saree or leave it loose...I think the pallu will look good in front if I leave it loose but am not sure if I will be able to manage it well.
(For wedding am having it plaited with kemp jewellery set and saree all pinned up traditionally :-))
He is wearing a suit for reception will this silk designer saree go with his suit? if not I need to quickly shop for another kind of saree.

I returned from mexico only a month back and then had engagement and stuff. Time ran too fast as I was working also. Now I have 1 week before the wedding I want to catch up and fix whatever is possible to look best on D day :)

I have dry skin and am having lot of facial hair...especially after bleach they start appearing in creamish color and I think it looks bad....any tips to overcome this? :(

(am following the below for past 1 week after reading the posts from Indus ladies members...
-am drinking lot of water daily some 3-4litres
-having 2-3 oranges or papaya or carrot (one of these)
-putting turmeric/sandal on face
I am a southindian, tall-5.6, 64kgs, wheatish complexion, medium hair till elbows )

looking forward for your advice...

-an anxious to-be bride :-)

With all the different expenses involved in planning a wedding, not every bride can afford to have her hair professionally styled for the special day. Fortunately, brides on a budget can pull off a fabulous look by learning how to create several simple bridal hairstyles on their own. Trying to find your best choice of beautiful bridal hairstyles should begin with using the type and formality of your dress as a guideline. Consider Your Hair’s Length<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
All brides, regardless of the length of hair, have a wide variety of interesting styles to choose from. Changing the part, using bangs, and either curling or straightening, along with adding decorative embellishments are all great choices for those with shorter hair. The hair style is given considering factors like the type of hair, the face structure, the height, the persona, the wedding dress, etc. For a nice hairstyle, one should also have an appropriate hair cut. This enables the stylist to weave the magic easily and with perfection. In fact, the brides have become quite experimental today and some of them even opt for hair coloring on their wedding. This not only holds true for those who have grey hair but also for those who wish to do something new.

Hair colors are available in a wide range and should be chosen according to your complexion and the natural color of your hair. The fair ones should go for bright colors while those with dusky complexion can go for dark shades of burgundy, dark brown, copper etc. always choose sober and matt colors, as, it is easy to carry them with any look and also they appear decent for a formal occasion like wedding. The hair coloring options include <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Normal full hair color, Diagonal Streaking, Slicing, Velcro Coloring, Gray Hair Coverage, Horizontal Streaking, Hair Relaxing and Straightening, Hair split ends and Bleaching.

Medium length or longer hair will of course have a few more options, such as these popular styles:

Bun: Resembling the style often worn by ballerinas, a bun is a simple ponytail wrapped and rewrapped around itself on the top of the head.
Chignon: Chignons are tight knots at the back of the head near the base of the neck and consist of either a regular ponytail or braided hair.
Updo: The term updo is used to describe any type of upswept hairstyle, which also usually features loose curls of hair framing the entire face.

Other hair styles you can choose from are:
1. Long short medium
2. Roller setting
3. Ironing
4. Crimping
5. Ringlets
6. Braids
7. Layers
8. Vertical
