Poovarasankuppam has the unique pride that it is one of the eight places where Lord Narasimha gave His unique darshan to the Saptha Rishis on their requests, after slaying the wicked demon king Hiranyakashipu. Poovarasankuppam is also revered as 'Then' (South) Ahobilam'. The temple authorities have planned a Mahasamprokshanam of the Swathi Mandapam on 16th May 2008. This day has the significance of Hastha Star Amirtha Yogam. The temple function is scheduled between 0900 hours to 1000 hours during the Midhuna Lagna.

One of the philanthropist, Kumutham Jothidam Editor, Ahobila Matam Aasthana Vidwan, Jothida Chakravarthi, Poovarasankuppam Narasimhan Kanda Prahladan A. M. Rajagopalan B.A. has taken yeoman efforts. With his blessings and with the monetary contributions of a Chennai based devotee, the mandapam is constructed at an estimated cost of fifty lakhs.

This function is followed by 1001 Kalasa Thirumanjanam on 17th May 2008 Saturday and Swathy Thirumanjanam, Homam on 18th May 2008 morning besides a Thirukkalayana Utsavam on 18th evening.

The temple authorities are inviting everyone cordially to get the choicest showers of blessings of the Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. The invitation also has the contact number of the Archakar S.
