Lakshmi,

My daughter is 12 going to be 13 next month. she learns carnatic vocal and swimming along with keyboard. And she draws well...though we have not sent her to any classes right now..and few of her works are displayed here.

I have a son who is 10 who goes for cricket coaching and also learns carnatic vocal and swimming.

Shanthi,

I have a question for you. How did you provoke the interests in your kids to learn all the other curricular activities?

Should we have a plan for them lets say by the age of 4, he should have learnt swimming, by the age of 5, he should have learnt some musical instrument like that ?

Just want to know how did you implement your ideas on your kids without forcing them explicitly.

Btw, i really admired your daughter's paintings. Really nice work. Tell our wishes to her.

Thanks
Shobana.

Hi Motherof1,

I am a mother of 2..

I do not have info about MV tennis, but I do know Tennis. Please check out my other thread -

I think you should check out Mr. Meenakshi Sundaram's Competitive Edge - International Tennis Academy. Recently, he brought his students from India to US and made them play tournaments here. Isn't that awesome?

Just start talking to him. He may come up with new programs to accomodate your kids. I am So Sure, it is worth it. .

regards,
Sharada

Shobana, thanks for your wishes, will convey the same to my duaghter.

I just tell them that there are these classes going on.if you are interested you can just go.

but when my son was small, i just enrolled him in iskcon, bahrain, there were sloka classes, gita classes, drawing and music, so he got into the groove himself.

now we do not force them, only put them into classes if they ask. swimming, it depends on your child's height.

There is no age for learning anything. I am told singer sudha, unni krishnan started learning music very late in life.

so wait and watch him
