If you are interested in learning a new art called "Lac Jewellery" making, then join the workshop.

What does the work shop cover:

All jewellery is going to be made of Lac.
The item which will be covered are

- Bangle
- pair of earrings
- kum kum box
- jewellery box.

The cost is Rs.500/-

It can be conducted in any one of our houses if there are 7 people signing up or at Dakshin Chitra on Saturday and Sunday between 10.30 - 4 PM.
Date is on 15 and 16th of December.

Little Flower Convent For the deaf and dumb is holding an exhibition cum sale of items made by the students in their school campus. It is near the Gemini flyover.The sale is on till 17 December 10 A.M.-7 p.m.
They have a centre does smocking, embroidery on a regular basis. The charges are nominal. You can give them the material and ask them to do the patterns

This is Kalyani (I learnt Jewellery making from you).Have done two three necklace and earrings for myself and few anklets for my cousins. I incidently spoke to Lakshmi on friday and said mostly the classes might not be there as the number of participants is very less. I have checked with few people in my street but not very encouraging. Will check out and get back to you later. Any luck on your side for getting the same conducted in and around your place?

Wonder kids workshop

Hello Kalyani,

I just got to see your post. Nice to meet you through this medium.
Yes, I was able to get 6 people and there were 2 more people who joined and the workshop was conducted on Saturday at Dakshin Chitra.
However, Lac jewellery needs a lot of tools/equipments and the process of making it is using fire continously not as easy as fashion jewellery.
But, it was good to know how these are made, thats all :)

I would also like to know about making lac jewellery. But I won't be able to join on 15 and 16th as I am working. Will you be conducting these classes in weekends?
