    Dear IL-ites,

I do not want to scare you all with the word 'Global Warming'..

    Check out our Environmental Surrounding..

    1. No more cute little chirpy birds.. No sparrows, Tailor birds.. Tomorrow, Crow will join the list !
    2. Pollution !! Pollution !! Everywhere it's common now. :bonkSome vehicles do not aware of smoke check control.
    3. Very few throws the garbage right into the dustbin. I've seen many Kumble's, Srikanth's throwing it right from their apartments, balcaonies..
    4. Besides all, climatic changes and we don't get the proper rainfall.

Who's responsible for this? Aren't we?? How can we control it?

So here is a way to it..

Plant A Sapling - Join The Mission For A Cause !!

Plant any kind of saplings in your surroundings, in your location, in your street etc.. And finally update it here !

Our Indusladies.com has 153,802 members now.. If any one of the member joins the mission, it would certainly help the environment !!

    1. It may invite few new birds to your location.
    2. A year later, it may provide shelter for the passers on the road.
    3. It would avoid bringing in huge amount of dusts into your home.
    4. It may provide you a breezy air during powercuts.
    5. It may increase rainfall in your area.

    Dont's;

    1. Please don't plant a sapling in hurry and end up causing a major havoc after an year or two. ;-) If they aren't deep rooted, it will fall in the heavy rainfall.

Think about it and join the mission !!

    Dear Gaur,

    A good idea.......

When we were kids, my father assigned five saplings each for myself and my brother....We loved taking care of them and the trees are big now.....spreading their canopy and making our garden cool.....and also supplying us with tasty fruits.....( with no harmful pesticides...)

It would be fun to involve kids in planting the saplings and taking care of them.

Hope to see our friends here.

    Dear gaur
What a noble thought....global warming is a serious issue and boring as it may sound, it has to be taken as seriously as possible. The other day I watched a video on the earth 50 yrs from today ( if we go on this way)... Was very scary I must say .....humans with skins resembling plastic,no water for shower instead mineral oil wipes....the piles of ewaste looked humongous...it seemed to engulf the earth and life.
I remember a quote somewhere, "only when every sea is polluted, and every fish dead will humans realise that we cannot eat money" ..something like that cannot remember the exact wordings. When we visit India annually, I get my kids " hand in mud" interacting with nature thing....only when they feel the pulse of nature will they realise what this is all about.....
    Great initiative......hats off.

    Dear Knbg,

Thanks for dropping in with your feedback. It's quite shocking, when I found the thread with nil response. Why the people don't take it seriously?

So have you planted any saplings? How many?

    Dear Mega,

Thanks for your feedback. I wish this would reach many people across the Indusladies site and would create an awareness. But none of them are interested to plant even a single sapling.

If we don't realize it now, then what is the use in regretting it later?

So would you be interested to join the mission?

    Hi Gaur
We should all take planting trees as our life mission.
When we were in Bangalore we hadto cut a mango tree to make way for staircase of our house.
My DD told then that we should plant two trees if we can't avoid cutting this mango tree.
So we planted two neem tree sapling in front of our house.

When we were in Trichy we had three big teak trees.
During rainy seasons its seeds sprout and grows under these trees.
I take it out these saplings, plant them in a suitable place and water it till it comes up nicely.

We just moved into a our new home at Chennai.
Because of construction this place doesn't have any plants.
I'm planning to plant neem or poonga tree in front of my house.

    Thank you.
    Regards
    chitra

    HI ..

    This is a nice idea..

I live in Bangalore and have a big garden this is my house after my marriage and my husband lives here since last 25 years. So there are lots of trees in our garden and now there is not much space left to plant any saplings :-(..
But I still do lots of work in the garden like cleaning maintaining and making compost etc.

However I have started roof top garden as well and am concentrating on flowering plants only. As we have lots of monkeys around our house cant afford to put up a vegetable garden..however thats still a dream.

I have many rose plants, basil plants, crotants, hibicus, arali, etc.. I love gardening.
And I keep adding new pots on my roof top garden every month..
Its lovely to see butterflies fluttering around every flower :)

    Happy gardening guys
    :)
