    Thank saheli for sharing the link.I love this style for its simplicity.this style of cross stitch was also called poor mam's embroidery as a substitute for lace way back in 18-19th century.I don't know where it originated but it is vintage style coming back into fashion in Europe and Western countries.If you guys do a google search of images,you will find so many mind boggling patterns.books have gone out of print but some sellers sell photocopies.
    I am currently doing a cross stitch on blue gingham of blue bird from :Vintage Bluebird Cross Stitch & Embroidery Patterns : TipNut.com
    will upload pics as soon as I finish it
