    hi jsri, as i've promised i've posted the pictures of small frame.very simple frame, for learning.here the method of tying the cloth are very same of the original big frame.

    now let me explain.you need 4 wooden pieces.2 main and 2 side.
    the main frame has to be cut in the |__| shape on all four corners.
    and side 2 frames need to be drilled with small holes to put nails in that.
    next, you need thick cot tape as shown in the picture.and attach that to the main frame with sharp nails.next get gada cloth and stitch that with cot tape.that's it now you can start doing work with cloth.

    Its so nice of sharing them.... Have you made the frame with the help of carpenter... Wont you get them in shops... If you have bought them in shop then could u pls give me the name of the shop...

    Here in chennai i have found aari frame only the round frame with stand... It was not made of wood.... That was the metal one....

    This is Jaymg signing as Jayashree and I have been msging you.
    Thanks for posting the frame as promised to me in your Pm to me. I really appreciate this effort on yr part. I already have this small frame which I got from Anchor when I was the craft teacher. Now that I have seen the frame fixing as your photos are v. good I will proceed with the work and post my efforts right after the Kasuthi sari I am doing presently.

    Hope yr son is better.

    thank you bhuvana and jaya.yes my son is quite ok.so nice, you have this frame.it,s a compfortable frame for teaching.i did it with a carpenters help.

    Nice to see you back here and thank u very much for the pictures and explanations. I bought the frame when I visited India, but had no idea how to use it. But guess what, one of the tailors here in Muscat was so helpful, he gave me a small tutoring on how to use my frame and also attached the gaada cloth and made it ready to use. He took me to neighbouring shops where so many were working on huge frames and got me a clear picture of how to use it. Its because of people like you and the friendly tailor who dont hesitate to share their knowledge , that people like me atleast get a chance to try our hands on such a beautiful art. Thanks a lot

    thanks a lot for posting the pictures of the frame so promptly!!
    actually as jaya said, this is a tapestry frame which i bought from the lady from tiluna- usha for my tapestry, counted thread embroidery and lagerta work!
    great to know that i can use it for my aari work!
