Embroidery : Creation / Making of Designer Saree

    Hi Folks
    I would like to show how we make/create a designer saree (Step by Step). First we design or choose a design which will be abstract and simple and attractive.
    Then we choose the saree material. the material is essential for the work you are planning to do. For heavy work one has to have a saree with reasonable tensile strength. Next go for the color of the saree - something which we dont have or think the design will come out well in that particular color.
    Discuss the color for the design - contrast, bright or subtle.
    Most of the times we discuss with the customer about the design color of the saree etc
    The saree is mounted on a embroidery frame. the design is then traced and perforated for dusting powder on the saree. After that the saree is left to the guy who embroiderer.
    Pic 1 - saree mounted on the frame
    pic 2 - the work has started - this design will come over the chest
    Note he has given the border too
    pic 3 - he has started the pallu design

    Oh Wow. Its a beautiful design. I always thought embroidery on a saree if made in large scale is machine embroidery.How long does it take to complete a saree like this.

    Thank you for your compliments. That was a fast response from you folks. It takes about 3 to 10 days depending on the design. Please keep track of this thread. I hope it ll be interesting and give you an idea how it is done. :hiya

    very nice to see that how the saree is born.
    Thank you for your effort.But it is very difficult to wait for the full finished sareebonkbonkbonk.

    Pls.post it soon.Very mild yellow and attractive color combinations. Drowning


    Actually i can notice that be is using silver beads,But is that red and blue is sequence and zardosi?

    very good color combination.......i know this process is very hard as i saw some ladies working on 1saree for 2-3 weeks....really hard work........

    Thank you for your valuable comments and the interest you have shown. :) It takes about 3 to 10 days to complete - depending on the design.
    I have used orange (copperish) and silver sequins (4 mm) with small silver beads for icing the sequins :). In between the lines i have used long golden beads. In the centre of the stem, red (coral color) beads used.
    Every day and every step has to be monitored and i see that i GET WHAT I WANT from my guys. So they will be cursing Rant. Sometimes i ll ask them to redo. But they are all committed and work hard with me to achieve what i want. At the end of day we want a designer piece. Once it comes to our satisfaction we are happy :rotfln say :cheers.
