Dabka Embroidery

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Indus Ladies community and this is my first thread. I wanted to use this forum to seek advice from all the ladies reading this thread.
My wedding lehenga which I purchased 8 years ago has Dabka embroidery all over it. It was embroidered on net and had a lining of satin. Now my questions are:

Is Dabka embroidery in fashion these days? ( May be no...I guess). But I really wanted to use it for my brother's wedding in Feb'2012. I was thinking of getting that altered in some way like may be combining it with a contrast choli. Or changing the color of satin lining from maroon to something that goes in contrast with maroon net.

Please share some ideas if something like this will look good and any other suggestions are most welcomed...
