Converting PDF or JPG files to PES files .Any software required?

Hi all,

Recently I bought SE 400 brother sewing machine.It has a facility to download embroidery designs from computer.But my doubt is when we have the embroidery designs as a pdf file or jpg file, how to convert them in to PES format.Is any software required to be bought to change the file format or something like design center required to be bought.

Friends please tell me whether there are any free sites converting pdf files to PES files and how you people do save the designs posted in this I Ladies site to your machine?:drowningI am very new to this embroidery field and eagerly waiting for your guidance.

Step by step procedure will be appreciated.

Hi,

I am also new to this embroidery,

Recently i bought Brother innov 4000, it is really a cool machine, you need to have Digitizing software to make PES files,

The conversion does not happen as simple as that, its like working on photo shop. i dont think any pdf, jpg can be converted easily, PES file are the one which contains the image, thread colors, where to trim, etc all the details..

I hope this would answer your question.

Note: i am using embird software package. which recently i bought for my work.

Hi kannan I googled for embrid software and the reveiws are good.Will the basic embrid software be enough for home use purpose?Is it easy for a person with basic computer knowledge to make use of it?

Hi,

Basic computer knowledge is enough. you would required basic package + studio

with basic, you cant create new designs..its more or like editor and studio gives you privillage to create new designs..and cross stitch plug-in allows you to create design stitches to fill the gaps.

one more thing is when you save files as PES, it does not embed Trim codes in the PES file format. which makes us to cut the thread manually, in DST format it happens and works. you have to check if your machine supports DST file format..its Tajima machine file format. which my also do support.

Kannan, I read that this embrid doesn't work well with windows 7.Is it true?And yes my machine supports both PES and DST file format.But can u tell me the price of basic +studio?
