    Zardosi

    Hi Friends,

I want to understand Zardosi work. I tried to google but cud not find much information. Then a thgt struck that IL has some very very friendly experts in this field & I can seek their expert advises here.

I want to know if the metal spring has to be cut before it is woven into the fabric according to the desing or it shud be woven first and then cut as desired & required by the design. bonk

    Awaiting your valuable advises:coffee

    Hi MadhuRao,

    >I want to know if the metal spring has to be cut before it is woven into the fabric according to the desing or it shud be woven first and then cut as desired & required by the design.

It can be done both ways. Generally small bits cut as required (length) and use aari needle or ordinary needle to sew on the pattern or the zardosi (long length pattern) can be sewn without cutting until desired length and then cut later. Hope that was helpful :hiya

    Embroidery : Zardosi (Zardozi) instructions

Zardosi is spring like. metal tube. It is available in different colours, sizes and textures. A thin long needle is available to do this work.Zardosi is cut into bits according to the size of the stitches.Necessary shape is given by fixing it in place by small stitches of matching coloured threads.Usual stitches used are stem stitch, chain stitch straight stitch .I have not learnt it by going to any class.By seeng the work I am doing. If there is any chainge in the proceedure please tell me

    Hi Vani,

These are crisp and clear instructions. I am sure for a beginner, this is wonderful.
Can you post the picture of the needle as well? This will be useful.

    Cheers,
    Sunitha
