anu, do a search on google for gre, ielts, toefl. you will end up with several sites. explore each one & start preparing.
welcome to bother. this thursday i will be leaving on business trip & vacation to chennai. back in october. i may not be regularly accessing, but shall respond whenever i access the IL. i hope preethiarun will be guiding you till then.
hey anusweety , I totally agree with natpudan and preethiarun. Apart from that, here are my two cents girl : 1. Myself being from the electronics background, these are the core companies for electrical[this is how they recruited in my college]: Texas Instr., Analog devices, Sandisk, Flextronics and the likes. This is for vlsi and dsp profiles. companies like NTPC, BPCL also recruit electrical people. These are govt. companies. 2. As for the software/IT companies, u have lots of them. I believe their placement tests concentrate on two papers: one is basic C/C++. The other is quantitative ability. You have be equally strong in both to get through. As for the technical companies based on vlsi and dsp, u need to be sound in analog electronics, digital electronics, circuit theory[transistors, diodes everything] plus second paper will be on quantitative ability again. Hope I was clear :idea Now for the GRE exam: 1. Yes girl, you first need to get a passport and book your date for GRE online. Then you need to start preparing word-lists and quantitative ability again. The material that 99% of the population uses for preparation is "The Barrons Book" which you can also buy. 2. After your GRE, you need to write your TOEFL[This is i case you are planning to do your masters in the U.S]. There are a lot of sites that can give you comprehensive and exhaustive information on GRE/TOEFL and the whole application process.! Okay, hope all of this helps!:coffee Good luck :thumbsup
