| Dear Rekha, Welcome to IL. No the different surnames should not create any problems. As long as the compnay that sponsors you for the H1 B visa , gives your correct name as it is in your Passport. You maiden name ( that is your name before marriage ) , does not matter for the Visa application. Just make sure that the Visa application is in your present name , that is Rekha Muthukumar. It is most Important, that the name on your passport and the name on your H1B application match. Hope this helps. Vandhana |
