Hi,

I live in chennai, so I am not sure of schools that you are looking for in phoenix. But I have been working on Oracle for most of m career. I thought I can be of help, if you let me know what exactly you are interested in. Is it just to learn, or for job or anything else.

Thanks.
Sunitha

hi sunitha,
thank you for your reply and yes i want to learn it for job, but fortunately i found someone here who takes oracle classe, and the class has already started, but if you don't mind can you help with something, like the person teaching me just started with sql and now pl/sql is going on, she actually took only 2 class in pl/sql and been saying she will touch reports and finish the course. is tha's all in oracle?
in pl/sql she just taught about, triggers, exception, package, procedures, cursors, only 1 or 2 examples. can you please tell me is that's all or anything there i should ask her. i would really appreciated your help.

Hi Girija,

Glad to hear that you found some one to teach you oracle. Oracle actually can be in 2 tracks, developer and DBA. You learn forms and reports in the developer track. In the DBA track you learn more about the architecture and administration of Oracle database. Whatever be the track, you have to be very proficient in SQL, PL/SQL. This is the core for both the tracks. This comes only with practise and experience.
What you have learnt so far is the basics. You need to understand each of the topics like triggers, cursors, etc in more detail.

Just two examples in each will only help you to understand. Ask your tutor to give you more real life problems to solve. This will prepare you better.

Also, know the various versions of oracle, what are the new features, when to use them etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Sunitha

Hi Girija,

Please visit the site Oracle Technology Network | Downloads, Discussions, and Documentation for Developers and DBAs
You will get lots of manuals on oracle. That is the best site. Also you can visit http://asktom.oracle.com.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Sunitha
