My Update:

Had routine doct checkup on last thursday, everything was ok. Baby's HB and fundal height. Doc said my baby is measuring more than it should at this week. So may be a big baby.

also last time they found some traces of sugar in my urine, so took a GTT 1 hour test again, awaiting for the results now.

Hi girls

I am doing fine... Getting bigger by the day! I realize it's so hard to turn sides at night while sleeping... but overall sleep hasn't been too bad.

Went for my checkup last week and looks like everything is fine.
@chitmin- I also asked the doctor if everything's ok as few people around me said I don't look like I'm in my 8th month... She said my fundal height measures fine and HB is normal... It maybe because it's our first one and the abdominal muscles are tight... is what she and the nurse told me.

@sush- nice big baby! that's pretty cute...
Others- have you started shopping for baby stuff?

my total weight gain has been 20 lbs in 33 weeks so far. Heartburn definitely is taking a toll on my diet as it's hard to even think of food after 7pm at night!

cheers

Tej

Hi Pranavi and tej

felt nice to see a post from you guys.

Gud to know ur updates.

Regarding breast pump first I though to go with Medela advanced Double electric but now i made my mind to buy lansinoh BPA free double electric pump.

Actually I spoke to my neighbour who used this pump for her baby for 9 months and she was extremely happy. The only thing is its power in motor is not efficient as medela but for regular use this was okay. Lansinoh doesn't come with bag to carry out, But overall Lansinoh is half the price of medela. After reading so many reviews online and knowing few personal experiences i made this decision.

In Babies r us it comes for $159 and online somewhere around $102.

Hi Friends,
@ Padmini, even I feel it may be gas… don’t worry
@ Sushmail – All the best with your GTT test results…update us..
@Pranavi – Even I feel like I have been on a marathon sometimes especially during the nights…I am planning on buying an electrical breast pump here as I will be getting back to work by the 5th month. But not planning to buy right now… May be start from the 4th month so that LO and myself can get used to it and then we both will be comfortable when I resume work. Now the question is what kind of storage bag / bottle is good to store. That’s the next mission J
@WaitingForTej – Even I have difficulty turning sides during the night.. have to get up completely and then try to lie down on the other side… L
My next U/s and Dr check up is this coming Saturday… need to check if the baby is big, enough water is there or not and other such stuff… Planning on trying t ask them about the sex of the baby… not sure if we will get the response…
Tell me about heartburn… till last Friday I was doing great…then suddenly I had this burning sensation on Saturday and its getting worse by the day L appetite is gone… surviving mostly on juices and fruits…
@ Other mommies – Take care… Keep us updated…

@ Pranavi Regarding Travel System

Heard from many that Graco is the best brand in market, but still not finalized.

@ tej, I haven't yet started any shopping, on Sep 24th i will be in 9th month, so planning to start shopping then.

First in my list is buying Travel system, some baby clothes, blankets, Breast pump, Breast cream, Breast pads...all whatever needed during delivery at Hospital.

@ lalitha

Thanks yeah sure i will update once I get my results.

HI everyone,
Nice to see all your posts after such a long time.

I have been doing okay. Backpain and heartburn-its killing me. Other than that no problem. Have my next appointment in a week.

My mom is coming on oct 9. I am soo eager to see her.

We did a little shopping-when there was a sale at carters and kohls- bought onesies, bodysuits, socks, mittens and caps. and receiving blanket and a blanket.

Decided on graco alano travel system. I was looking for one which was reasonably light weight. And the bassinet- graco travel lite crib. Only these two are pending. and also diapers. My mom is gettin lots of cloth nappies from India. Still, need to have the disposables for nights and going out.

Ladies, have any of you started leaking colustrum? I did a few times. And did any of you experience braxton hicks contractions? I dont think I experienced any type of contractions so far or maybe I dindnt know how to recognize one.

And one more thing I wanted to ask you all since a long time, kept forgetting. While turning from one side to another while sleeping, do you sit up and then turn? I find it so difficult to sit up. The doctors here didnt tell me anything about it but my mom and others back home told me to follow it because turning just like that may lead to the cord winding around the baby's neck!!!???? is it true?

And names?? any of you finalized names? I have not so far. Its such a herculean task!!!

wow!!!this is my longest post ever!!!

Take care all!!!

Hi Ladies,

It's nice to see some activity again on the board. I had a doctor's appointment today,a nd she said that everything seems to be fine. She seems happy with my weight gain (16lbs so far), as well as the fundal measurements and heart beat of the fetus. I will go back in two weeks and she plans on doing an internal exam that day. I too haven't experienced any BH contractions (or as Ranjitha said, I also probably can't recognize it). My stomach does feel big now, but my energy levels seem fine so far. I continue with my hour long walk in the evenings unless it's raining. The only 'not-so-fun' part is that my belly button is slowly but surely changing from an 'innie' to an 'outie'. I am continuing to go to work--so far so good.

I didn't know we had to get up to turn while sleeping. I semi-get up 'coz there is so much weight to move around now!

We haven't done any shopping yet. My colleagues at work are planning a baby shower sometime in October--I think we'll go buy stuff after that. I will probably get some nursing bras, maxi pads, breast pads, and breast cream before hand though. I'm just confused on what size I should buy wrt nursing bras. Does anyone know how we can predict the bra size?

For the baby, I'm guessing we'll probably get lots of clothes as presents (thats what my friends said--they often ended up with clothes/blankets/towels for the first six months!). In case that doesn't happen, then I'll go get some clothes :)

Take care everyone...

Chitra.
