Art from pickings from the beach.(stones, corals.).

    When i saw riyakathir's creative stones, i just wanted to share this.

    we have this habit of picking up different shaped stones, pebbles, shells, and corals (if we get them)

    this was during my vacation in 2009..we had around 4kgs of stones and other pickings from the beaches much to the irk of my husband.:rotfl

    The corals are so stinky.(being vegetarian, it is more bad).we soaked them in hot water with bleach..then washed them with a toothbrush slowly..then again soaked them for 3/5 days..then washed them a few times..the corals looked so plain, so added colors..and they look grand in my showcase along with other artifacts.

    and the stones, were brushed, sanded, and then used for painting..though it was painted by DD under my guidance..

    and these stones rest in a basket of shells that i picked along some of the beautiful beaches.

    the picture quality is not upto the mark..but just wanted to share...

    The corals looks soo beautiful and i am jealous of you guys... i am missing chennai beach sooo badly now.... it was awesome days that i used to walk in the morning....

    your DD has painted it so well and it is looking soo beautifulll thanks for mentioning my name... :D

    Shanvy... I know how the coral stinks... once when we went to andaman i happened to collect some corals during underwater snorkelling as a rememberence.. but i didnt know they have to kept dry.. i bought it in a cover and when i reached chennai it had all fungus and stinked like hell and had to throw it... missing them..

    And your coral looks awesome... and the stones too...
