Instructions For Making Cornflour Flowers

dear all ILites,

thank u all so much that u liked my flowers, i'm very sorry that i cudn't reply to anyone as i was busy with my kids 1st term exams and many other things came up, now they have their summer holidays so i'm free now!

sorry i kept all of u waiting for so long!

here i'm sending the procedure with pics-- how to make flowers with corn flour.


u dont need exact measurement of cornflour and glue

corn flour
white glue
veg oil 3 to 4 drops
green tape
stems
flower cutters (shapes)

method

1.take some cornflour ( 3-4 tbsp) and add some glue till they both mix
well . it should not be sticky put 3- 4 drops of oil. add more cornflour if
the dough is sticky.

2.cover it with plastic--keep it covered all the time or it will dry

3. take a small piece, the size of a pea and shape it into a ball and
slightly like a bud. make as many buds u want-- as we'l keep some for
buds and some for inside of the flowers

4. bend the end of the stem and hang it in any jar to let it dry for a day
it is very imp that we leave it for a day to harden it because if the
buds are soft we cannot attatch the petals to it.

5. keep the dough in a plastic wrap then in an air tight container.

6.roll the dough very thin and press it with the petal cutter.for one flower
cut 5 layers

7. take a marble and roll the petal ends with it to get a natural shape.

8. stick some glue on the dried bud, take a petal and push it all the way
to the bud and attatch it, do it with all the other petals ( putting glue
whenever adding new petal) till u get the shape of a flower.

9. let this also hang upside down to dry.

10. in this way make the leaves also-- add green color ( any fabric
paint) to the glue then attatch to the stems, let it dry.

11. arrangement: take the flower stem and the leaf stem, take green
tape and put around the stems and attatch the flower and leaves
together.

ur cornflour flowers are ready for display and praises!

actually this stem i had made long ago so the green tape is a little loose, just have to wind it again to make it firm.

and for the sepals--make green color dough in the shape of a pointed star and attatch it to the flower.
