Yello ppl! Ofcourse Precious, it would've been such a wonderful thing to say - I WISH. They didn't allow me to take the test, turns out that the scanned document that is required from RTO India, has to be given in original. And my original is still on its way to Aus. And things don't stop at this. I got the test rescheduled for free (That's what they claim but it simply means they are not refunding the money) on 21st November. But since my overseas licence is valid only for 3 months - which expires on 9th nov btw, I can't take the test on 21st Nov without having a Learner's permit. That's not all, haha, turns out that if I am not 25, I will have to hold the learner's permit for 6 months. So I am not 25 yet and I have to hold for 6 months. But I can apply for an exemption to go for drive test immediately, but if I apply now, it will take 2 or 3 weeks for them to notify me if I am exempted or not. In any case, I can't take the drive test on 21st nov and hence cancelled that too. I believe I have to run into vicroads today and get my learner's. It's safe to go today as my overseas is not valid from monday. Well, that also - they are not sure if I have to rush in today as they don't have their system updated for new rules starting monday. ANYWAY.....
Moral of the story: I can't sit and feel bad about this coz half my day of my life is already gone. I might as well enjoy the rest of the day.
Now, highly selfish of me to be talkin bout myself. Precious, you made me hungry talking about idli and chutney. I loveeeeee chutneys
Sruthu/bagya - Please let us know how to get a job here - anytime - part time full time, doesn't matter. It'll be very helpful for us. Thanks! And it must be relaxing to have kids and part time jobs. It's like having a cake and eatin it too :)
K2S - Thanks much for the luck. It was very sweet of you to have remembered and mentioned it first thing. And tried Kettle, but this flavor of Smith - love it. I promise I won't complain if I see kettle. How adjustin na ;) hehe
Neev - Awesome day u had then eh? And your son is one brave boy! It still gives me jitters if I think of that python thingy you've mentioned!
Subaby - whr art thou?

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh! what a bummer Pratim. God so many new set of rules now I think. So you now have to go on Monday for the Learners and hopefully they have their system updated by then. Make sure you call them before you go on Monday. Thats OK atleast with some hungama your half a day was over eventfully!
I know why Subaby is not showing up. It just hit me suddenly....India lost to Australia at the Hyderabad match. She must be pretty upset with that.
Precious....you make idlis and chutney. I will come with potato stew and we all sit and have a session of eating and chatting and then coffee and muffins and listen to Pratim singing with her guitar. Yes dear, does not matter how it sounds, we want to hear it. Sruthu and Bagya, you are also welcome
When Neev mentioned MKS, mysorepak and badam halwa , I feel like going there now and eating some sweets desperately .
For me no weekend plans as such at the moment. It is going to be hot tomorrow I think isn't it?? Might stay indoors and watch a movie or something. Neev, it might be hot tomorrow for gardening. Just be careful. Your lil one is sure a super hero. Ayyo I can't imagine doing that myself.
Have a good weekend all of you ( Pratim / Neev / Precious / Sruthu / Bagya and Subaby ). Will try and peep in over the weekend if I can.

Hi everyone,
Pratim-that was indeed a very nice breakfast recipe.Knowing me I might put on weight even by having a look at it.!
About the vic roads thing a friend of mine got her document from India but while giving her test here she was not asked for it.So it was bit of time and money waste to procure those documents.
I would be lying if I say its "relaxing" between work and my daughter. Its quite hecticI used to be always late for work.Only recently I have started timing myself and try to get to work a bit early.I dont know how some people have 2/3 kids and still manage to all the things
Neev-I am impressed with your gardening.Imagining the python and crocodile gives me creeps!wow thats something
With jobs we have to keep looking I guess.Never know what might suit you. With the market down there's no surprise why its difficult but its changing anyways.
K2s ,sounds like a nice gettogether.Im always ready.
made some mysorepak earlier this year keeping in mind the SK sweets.Unfortunately turned out to be a flop.
Yes,Its going to be a hot day today, but have to work to do so have to venture out.Got my lil one's swimming classes first thing in the morning.
Hi to Precious,Subababy and Bhagya too
have a safe Saturday all of you

Pratim excitement is your middle name....yeah!! seems never ending this protocol n paperwork...on monday you can still drive to vicroads...but once you get your learners your overseas licence becomes invalid, so you will have to find someone to drive ya home...thts the catch...and you are not yet 25?? how young are ya??
K2S...have a good day indoors, enjoy your movie...will def catch up to teach ya driving, when and where neenge think pannungo...
Precious...thanks for the Varalotti link, kottamalli chutney suits me just fine...
Sruthu...I know how tht can be...simply supermum... been there and still going thru it...but frankly I do feel empowered that I can do something tht the other members of my family cannot....I read this plaque in a gardening centre yesterday tht reads "If mum is not happy, nobody is"...and its true for me...once I start cleaning up, everyone scampers and cleans up ahead of me
People as far as gardening goes....dunno if it will all be successful but no lack of enthu here, alle K2S?? Its a wait and watch game, only time will tell...plus its bloody expensive and I dont want to bust my bank to get a garden...
will spend some time in the yard then head out to a smallish fair close by with the bachas...then chill with the beers and watch tv at home methinks...
Have a great weekend ladies...ciao for now..

Yup gals, not a good experience with this whole licence thingy, but never a problem. Life is too short to worry about such rubbish And no K2S, no songs from me please. I will love to start learning again, I used to go for classes with a friend. I had to leave, thanks to my marriage!
I'd love to have an electric guitar someday, tired of the usual ones. I guess I will faint if I see a wine red colored one with some awesome strings and me being able to play it like no one else - in a nice way ;). But dreamin is as far as I get
And Sruthu - swimmin already, that's so cool. I wanna go too! But to an adult's swimmin thingy please! Nothin aroun and I am always freaked out about my skin and hair gettin spoilt :) Hope your work was good today
And neev - "once I start cleaning up, everyone scampers and cleans up ahead of me "..do you also sing - mae hun donnn.. mae hun donnn... while cleanin.. darake rakha hai ekdum sabko! Kiddin! Hope the fair went on well!
And Subaby - what should've been a 5 - 0 to India's favor is a 3-2, a buncha somethings. Nobody can be blamed but I want India to win yea!
Precious/bagya - hope your weeken is going good.
Hey Precious - I made a chutney sometime back - very spicy, dates and tamarind one. Have you tried it?

| | Re: Friends in Melbourne Nice to hear from you all. K2S, I too have oats porridge on the weekends the way you have but with a pinch of cardamom pdr. It will be great to have a party meet with you all. where and when? Pratim, I am here for the past 14 yrs. Regarding your query about jobs, I would suggest u apply for jobs at Myki, AusPost etc who deal directly with the applicants, no agencies. Try at Woolworths/Aldi too if u r happy about doing customer service(retail). If u r happy abt working voluntarily, say once a week, u may register with Ardoch. this might give u Aus exp to add in to your resume. Any other suggestion girls? Precious, what is the special treat for this weekend? Today we are having mix veg molagootan, raw tomato thokku, eggplant pulikuthi upperi and lemon rasam for lunch. Neev, I don't know much abt gardening. Sometimes I get allergic to certain plants, so am not keen abt doing anything in the garden when i am alone. My s-i-l has most of the tropical plants in her garden. And lucky hands too. Sruthu, I also experience the rush hour in the morning with kids. I can't be late to work because I work as a teacher. Most of the time I have my brekky in the car. Sometimes I think, Ippadiyum oru life thevaya? Best day for me is Saturday. How abt u all? Bagya

| | Re: Friends in Melbourne Hiya ladies, thy is back from hibernation. I'm promoted as trainer (thank you, thank you, thank you ) so pretty schedule for the past one week. I went to shivji temple today and lit the 365 wicks lamp and had family lunch under an amla tree. Folks, if you get a chance to light the lamp do it, as this monday would be the last monday of this auspicious month. K2S, Pratim, My bro gave ultimatum that I have to get ready quickly else asked me to forget being dropped even half way. I thought i have my OH as my back up, and he also asked me to take an auto to go to work. (which i hate, coz the meter starts ticking so fast that my BP shoots up twice as fast as the meter) K2S: Curiosity is killing me, are you fitness freak, coz yoga, walking and now oats.. Pratim : Tomorrow we have a match with Aus, hope to win tomorrow. Sruthu : Hai, thanks for giving me some valuable info that i was looking for in one of posts. Bagya: When i'm in Aus, i'll give my inputs on jobs, i just cant wait to be there. Neev, Precious..super mums, how do you manage doing multi tasking, job, cooking, gardening etc etc.. for me waking up in the morning is a biig task.. About me, i'm a true arian. I love water, thought i'll learn swimmimg. I woke up early one fine morning ( 5.00am, which is not at all me), brushed, freshed up, changed and then slept again. I love reading books & adventures. That reminds me, my OH is very scared of heights but one day, somehow i convinced him to sit in a giant wheel kinda thing. Everything was going fine and i was enjoying the ride to the fullest. My OH started screaming and tears in his eyes, i tried my level best to divert his attention from the height, but his attention was only on the guy who operated it and was screaming at him to stop it immediately. I love gardening but i have no plants or garden at home. Big fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S sitcom & i have terrible mood swings. That's me, thought i'll do something constructive and do things that i wanted to do atleast when i come there... wow..pretty long post, but i wanted to make up for the loss, will be back tomorrow, until then chow !! Cheers !!

Dear All
Sruthu, how was the swimming classes? So sweet, I am trying to imagine the little one enjoying the time in water. I certainly agree with that line " If mum is not happy, nobody is.....". Neev dear, Precious/Neev/Sruthu/Subaby are all chota bachhas only. Possibly Bagya, you and myself are the senior members here. Same pinch Bagya, since I have also been here for 13+ years. Absolutely thrilled to bump into you. So you are a teacher......wow, I hear teachers here have quite a lot of work to do, even though the school hours are less. Lots of admin sort of work I think isn't it? I will surely give a pinch of cardamom a try in my oats. Thanks for that tip Bagya. Ever since Neev expressed about her itching feet, I am also wondering if I need to get into work. A long break it has been for me and enjoyed it and still enjoying ofcourse. Maybe we can all find a job in the same place . Imagine how that will be ........... I too wonder looking at all these busy families and wonder like you Bagya (Ippadiyum oru life thevaya). My cousins are more busy over the weekends than weekdays. God knows where they get so much energy from.
Subaby, I have to say Holy Molly!!!......... Gal, I am not a fitness freak please. Jo mujhse hota hain, woh karti hun yaar. Zyada kuch nahi. Aur waise bhi health ka sawal hain. Aap logon ke tarah jawani mein basking tho nahi na . Totally happy to hear the ultimatums you have got . I loved your swimming prep work. So you went to sleep looking all nice and fresh ...hehehe........I hate those giant wheels and rides like that. Ek baar college mein I had been with friends. This guy sitting next to me had his blood circulation on his arm cut off because of me. I grabbed his arm and held it sooo tight with the fear of the ride and height. In the end he was also in tears due to the pain and I was also for my fear!! After that, he said he would never go on rides, especially with me sitting besides him. That was my last experience. Happy to be a spectator. When we went to Movie World in Gold Coast, they had this crazy ride ( now I forget the name, some Mel Gibson's movie it is ). Maan that was really scary to see. My hubby went on it. I was happy just with my Batman simulated experience.
I think Neev/Sruthu and Bagya are all super mums.......Nothing to beat them. OK so Subaby and Pratim, I will join you here. Match is on today right.........GO INDIA!!! And yes Pratim, don't give up on those practice sessions for singing. Nope, you are not getting away with it dear .
Preciousssssssssssssss.............well, nothing really. I just love to say that
many times like Golum.
My Saturday went off well. Got my eyebrows done, ghar ka kaam and then we finished our grocery shopping. Evening, just chilled out with a friend of ours. Have a good Sunday all.
