    Hello all,

I have been in IL for almost 7 months... And I admire it...

But can anyone share the story behind IL, as if when was it started and what was the major purpose etc., of course I know that Malathy madam was one of the major source behind the idea of IL....

I have asked this just out of curiosity and anybody who knows anything about this can share which may also help some new comers.

    Love,
    Vidya

    Oh my dear friends,
I accidentally saw this thread. I think I can answer the question at two levels.
Well for level one, I am attaching a pdf file which contains an article about IL which I wrote for the press long ago. (When we had a membership of 3000. Today we are ten times bigger than that)

At level 2, my latest serial Love All is all about a lady who started a site like this. Of course my serial is not Malathy's biography. Nor the events mentioned in it are real. But being a writer for donkey's years I have done my best to capture the love of Induslady and that of the members. You may click the link below my signature to read the first episode of the story.

    love,
    sridhar

Very interesting write up there varlotti sir.

I have also gone through 2 full years of this loneliness in the alien world ...that too where english speaking is very low....but sadly i didn't come across IL in those days. Wish I had known about IL that early....still....now having known and being here I am trying to make the best use of it.

Kudos to the founders and hats off to the ILites who continue to contribute to the success of IL :)

    Cheers
    Jenz

    Varlotti Sir,

One day, I was browsing for a Sanskrit shlokam when I came across this IL forum and Chitvish's Shloka Index. When I wanted to open a photo posted by Chithra Mami, to my dismay, I was denied permission unless I became a member of IL, so here I am, some 150 posts old!
I also wondered who's brainchild it was and how it actually came into being. On reading your article, I have to say 'Bravo' to Malathi. I must thank IL and the members for posting such interesting articles on such diverse topics, so much so I feel withdrawal symptoms if I am not able to log on for some reason on any day!

    Merci beaucoup, Malathi

    Padma
