IT jobs in CBE

Dear ladies,

We are currently abroad and we are planning to return to India. We are considering returning to Coimbatore. Can anyone please let me know the (1) current job prospects for IT professionals in Coimbatore?
(2) What is the expected salary for a person with 15 years experience in IT?
(3) Has the tidel park started functioning?
(4) How is the cost of living compared to Chennai?

The answers to these questions will help us decide our move. Any help is appreciated.

(1) current job prospects for IT professionals in Coimbatore?

As of now, the major players include Cognizant and BOSCH.
Apart for them, there are lots of small companies like Vignani etc.
FORD has opened their accounting section in KCT Tech park. We also have software opportunities in PSG STEP campus. There are quite a lot of small companies emerging successfully.

(2) What is the expected salary for a person with 15 years experience in IT?

Must be around 15-16 lakhs...

(3) Has the tidel park started functioning?

No, not yet. It would be operational by Jan 2010.

(4) How is the cost of living compared to Chennai?

Cost of living is comparitively on the higher end than Chennai.
