Hotel SREE ANNAPOORNA fans in IL?

Hi,

The cuisine of Hotel Sree Annapoorna ,CBE is a cut above the rest of

the genre and personally I feel the dosas and sambars are incomparable

to the stuff made in other places.

Any more Annapoorna fan?

I heard of this Hotel from my relatives, particularly for their specialized service and ofcourse the incompareable DOSAs.

I visited the one at Gandhi Nagar in Feb. I was due to reach Velliangiri and wanted to have my breakfast here. I walked in with a huge luggage and a tired face. The dosas are indeed heavenly here. I also had lemon sevai - a rarity in any chennai hotel with beetroot chutney. Great food and wonderful sambar! I heard there is some Annaporna where we can walk out without paying a penny - where is this place, and who is this good smartain?

Yes, their dosas are just DELICIOUSSSS .

It is true sevvai is another speciality there which we rarely see in Chennai restuarants.

You can't walk away without paying in ANNAPOORNA.

But I have heard it is so in one branch of ANNALAKSHMI where u pay what you think is fair price or u may even walk away if u can't afford but very few seem to go in that route.

Annapoorna 's crispy vadai ,sambar is yet another alltime hit.

I am a big an of ANNAPOORNA restaurant in CBE, I was in CBE for almost 3 yrs doing my MBA and later working with AIRCEL ....CBE is definitely a place which I misses a lot..............

I am also a big fan of annapoorna/ gowrishankar group. Not only dosai, everything
is very tasty there. You know one thing, immediately after the lunch is prepared
there, it will be brought to the SREE VINAYAGAR TEMPLE in Dewan Bhadur road,
R.S. Puram for naivediyam and then only they will start serving the lunch in all
their branches.

I was in Coimbatore for 17 years and every week end we used to go to Annapoorna
and Gowrishankar group only for dinner.

Now they have many branches everywhere in Coimbatore and ofcourse in Madras
also. But those days they had only at R.S. Puram.

Even I have heard of this" Neivedyam "to Rathna vinayakar.

I think eating out at Annapoorna is a habit of all Coimbatoreans.


No one will settle for any other veg eatout.Of course their taste is incomparable...

But are u sure they have a Chennai branch?

I lived in Kovai... My fav place in the whole world..

My fav restaurant Heard about neivaidhyam too.. such delicious sambhar.. I was so regular in RSPuram ..

hmm.. miss those days :( and the delicious yummy food..

Wow !!!!!! I just love the yummy masal dosas, hot hot thin polis, mango milk shake, mini juicy jilebis, mysore pak, vada sambhar....of the GREAT ANNAPOORNA HOTELS....

Just waiting for another chance to visit coimbatore to taste the yummy food....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where ever they live in this world.

I am an ANNAPOORNA ADDICT fron the time it wos opened.

I remember polishing off their crispy dosas in the 70s as a school kid.
