Anybody from Kovaipudur???

Hi Coimbatore Ilites,

I am wondering if anyone from KovaiPudur area. I would like to know bcos, I probably would be living in Kovai Pudur in about a year or so. Currently I live in the US and we plan to return to India next year. As we own an independent house in Kovaipudur (which is a beautiful, pollution free area in Coimbatore) my husband and I plan to relocate from Chennai (which is our origin in India) to Kovaipudur and hence I thought I would get to know Kovaipudur Ilites well before our move.

I think you are going to settle in a nice place....Though I'm not from CBE, i did my UG there...nice place to live for all sorts.....

Even ,we have a plan to settle there other than chennai or banglre....Good schools, colleges, nice weather,decent place,ooty nearby, convinient for Air travel.....Do u have any idea abt s/w companies and real estate there? We have aplan to invest in CBE.....

I don't have much info about good schools in Kovaipudur area as I never needed. But, regarding real estate prices, I believe it is about Rs. 2 lacs+ minimum per cent land if you are looking to buy land and build your house. There is plenty of land available still and so many builders are building independent villas with all amenities like swimming pool, tennis court, children's park etc.,. But Kovaipudur is tucked in a pocket which is about 8 to 9 kms from the Coimbatore city and it is away from the upcoming IT park.

In my opinion, Kovaipudur is a wonderful place to retire as there is no noise, air pollution and less crowded too when compared to city, but accessible too.

Well, I am seriously looking to make friends before my arrival to settledown, so that I can familiarise with all the facilities in the surrounding area and such, as I never lived there or in Coimbatore.

I'm from Coimbatore and I personally been to Kovaipudur.
Its a very good place to live in though 7 to 8 kms away from city u will be gettimg all the essential needs from there.its a very good place without pollution and noice.

Good choice to selecting Kovai pudur

Hi I'm also sailing on the same boat. I was born and brought up in Chennai basically and my husband was born and brought up in Bangalore. I like city living.. recently I guess Chennai is getting modernized with more places to hang out like coffee shops, shopping malls, INOX movie theatres etc. We currently live in the USA. But thinking of settling in India after 5 to 7 years down the line when we have our kids growing. Right now dont have kids though. When discussing with my hubby was telling our kids future in terms of education is important considering a place to settle down. Bangalore is good IT hub but dont think good enough to beat Chennai in terms od education. Also Bangalore is too modernized and dont want that to influence my kids either. Since Chennai is where i lived my life so far I always prefer Chennai but my husband tells that we could settle in Coimbatore. I have just heard the name otherwise I dont know anything about that city. When I searched online there are good reviews for that city living. With respect to my kids' future meaning education seems to be a good place. But, are there software companies in Coimbatore like in Chennai as both me and my hubby work in IT industry plus since I like city living a lot, does Coimbatore have many places to hang out as in Chennai? like coffee shops, shopping malls, movie theatres.. If someone is from Coimbatore pls give me a genuine answer. I know since I'm from Chennai if asked I will talk all good about Chennai but I dont want to hear similar suggestions from Coimbatoreans. Please tell what all I have there in C'tore icity and what I do not have.

I too love karnatic music. Well, I haven't decided yet to make the move from this part of te world. My husband is seriously thinking of winding up in another 2 years I guess.

Well, Coimbatore may not have many music concerts and such cultural activities like Chennai. If we ever live in Coimbatore (Kovaipudur) we have to make a trip to Chennai for the music season...no question about it. It s a crime not to be in Chennai for music season

Well, I just made a trip to Chennai on a long holiday (2 months) and fell sick to the bone due to mosquitos bcos of water logging (non stop rain) everywhere. Also, increasingly I am disappointed with the way auto drivers behave and the pollution and various other factors especially the hot humid weather all 365 days. It would be a good relief for us to settle down anywhere away from Chennai, preferably Coimbatore or Bangalore.

I guess That sums up my opinion..

Where is Anaikkatti wrt kovaipudur?

Is Kovai pudur coming from pudu oor of Kovai? ie new city of coimbatore?

I am cutting and pasting something that I read on the web.

Mosquito menace


Kovaipudur, a suburb of Coimbatore city, faces mosquito problem. According to media reports, time and again fogging is done to contain the menace. But suburbs like Kovaipudur are not even sprayed with insecticides. Nor are overflowing drains there cleaned. Kuniamuthur Municipality should look into this. Street lights are yet to be installed.
