saree for my mom

Hi ladies,
my mom's b'day is around the corner and i thought of surprising her by gifting her a saree, my mom is around 55 and she's working.she wouldnt normally allow me to buy sarees for her as watever i pick was more suited for youth:idontgetit:. so,can anyone say what kind of saree to buy and where to buy ?.Thank you in advancethankyou2:

If she likes something in light weight, you can look around for mysore silk sarees. I somehow like the look and feel of these sarees and elderly women can carry them off very well.

As for the colour...choose a colour of her choice.

Cooptex has come out with some nice cotton sarees. you can shop online too. their silk cotton, organic cotton is also good..

Silk cotton sarees are a good choice. Of course the classic Kanjeevaram or Mysore silk without too much zari are classics. Choose a color that is slightly different from what she has, but something that is age-appropriate.

may be a light weight cotton one?- color- scan her cub board once- her favorite color will appear more.( my experience).

No limit for age ......It just depends on person who wears.Recently I paid a visit to pothys.........excellent online portal and offline textile showroom.Vast collections of sarees include Organza silk, Rajkot patola....nine yard saree ..just a pay visit to explore the saree world- aalayam of silks - Pothys.

Hie,,,Wishing you happy bday to your mommy : ). i will suggest you designer sarees...which is an lighter in weight not having over embroidery. So go for it !
