Hi. Just now there was a mail from our niece which reads thus: " I read on the internet that these days, a convenient method of draping the madisar using only a 6 yards sari has evolved in the Tamil Brahmin community. Could you throw light on this." If any of you here have read about this or already know, can you please share here. I know the Madisar in Iyengar style is worn with just 6 yrds. But can it be worn in Iyer style too in 6 yrds. It would be interesting if any convenient style exists!
Hey Soldier , I dont think you can wear 6yards as a madisar. its not possible. however I've known iyengars do this . but their style is different. and Iyer madisar is not possible. if this is true, would love to know about it .
Hi, Ofcourse, even my mom uses 6 yards for wearing madisar but it is iyyengar madisar and frankly speaking , it is quiet comfortable for small functions within the four walls of our house. But , I too never try that for going out to temples or other occasions as it may not look good and dont feel much comfortable. Im speaking about iyyengar madisar only. regards, anandi
I seriously Doubt if we can wear Madisar (Iyer) with 6 yards...If its possible i would be all the More interested to know it
Anandhi and Brahan, Thank you for stepping here. I too told my niece that only iyengar version can be draped in 6 yrds. She kept harping on the note that some one had told her it is now possible in iyer style too. Thanks for your replies.
