Here is a tip that I learned many years ago and it really works. If you have a ceramic teapot (or other ceramic item) that has a crack in the bottom but not broken through (might be slightly leaking), it is very easy to repair. Fill the item with enough milk to cover the crack and then enough so it doesn't dry out during this process. Place it in a warm place for about a week letting the milk go really really sour. The casein from the milk will fill the crack like a glue (casein is used in glue making) and it will get sealed. At the end of the week just clean the vessel well.
