    Dear Ilites,

Kitchen, our dear kitchen, a place where we spend our time in our fresh mood, bad mood and good mood. Every Indian lady, whether working or not has to go in her kitchen and she does that willingly.

Well, working in a kitchen having nice, shining tiles, sparkling sink, well placed utensils, clean gas top, clean microwave, and shining floor, adds to the pleasure of cooking. Isn't it.

I hereby, welcome you all to my lovely kitchen by sharing the stuff i try for making it my favourite place and also to have your secrets in kitchen cleaning..

I start with my tiles first..While cooking , lots of oily grease sticks on the tiles and closets, which is very hard to remove.. Once , i was trying hard to wipe the grease off using detergents and scraping, when my MIL came and told me an idea..

    1. Using Vinegar is acidic and can be helpful in cutting grease. Dampen the stain with vinegar and let it sit for a few moments. Wipe off with a damp sponge.

    2. Using baking soda. Wet the area, sprinkle some soda, leave for a minute and scrub. After scrubbing leave the moist thing there for a minute and wipe with warm water..

Hope this helps..Please add your tricks also..

You can sanitize your dish washing cloth and other cleaning cloths (wet) in the micro on high for 2 mins. Also you can clean cooked on stuff in micro by micro bowl of water for 5 mins and then wipe out.

    Hi rupa,

Thanks.. I hope it benefits all the ladies..

Vinegar, Baking soda and lemon are three things which always have in our kitchen, and these can be used for tile cleaning purpose.

But , of course the best way is to wipe the tiles with a wet cloth daily..

    Hi,
    Nice and useful tips.
Here is anothr onee using vinegar and baking soda

Sometimes while using steel utensils, food gets burnt and forms a black layer at the bottom that does not easily come off and is very hard to wash.
For such utensils, boil water in them with 2 spoons each of vinegar and baking soda. You can see the black layer just coming off and floating in the water.:thumbsup

Anyone has any tips on how to remove turmeric stains on the counters?

    Dear Ranjoose,

Here is the tip to clean turmeric stains..

Squeeze some lime juice on the stain, leave for a minute and scrub using all purpose detergent powder. Wipe it. If it is not 100% clean, atleast it will lighten up for sure.

Hope it helps...Dear friends, kindly share your ways also..

    Deepali.

    Ranjoose:
If that lemon juice tip doesn't help on the turmeric, try either Gonzo (it is for stains on clothes and will get out turmeric) or Bar Keeper's Friend (type of souring powder...be sure to follow the directions!).

Deepali: another use of your baking soda and vinegar tips: if you have a clogged drain put a lot of baking soda down it without running the water and then pour in the vinegar.
