Do you put Kolams/Rangoli daily..??

Dear All...


Kolam /Rangoli is a Wonderful and Beautiful Tradition in India.. And also It has Many Good Scientifc and Medical Signs also.....What about you ladies living abroad....?? Do you put Kolam Daily in front of your Flat/House......??

Hi Friends,
I put kolam in my house daily. In Friday thamaraipoo kolam,and the month margazi put big kolams. I really enjoy that times. In my mother's house daily two times put kolam. Morning and evening.

You are asking about putting kolams one who live in abroad.
I visited to my sons place for6 months at USA.
His house first was a rented apartment.
Eventhough i put a very little kolam in a wooden piece and placed it in front of the house.After they shifted to their new house there was a huge frontyard in their house. But my son stritctly told me that not to put big kolam. So there also i put small little kolam in front of the house. My daughterinlaw says that the time i visited there was summer. So Its o.K. If you come during December you cannot show your head out.May be correct. She doesnt have the habbit of putting kolam in front. But having a wooden swami almarah and in front of that in a wooden plate she used to put daily Navagragha kolam(Teach by me).
So you do according to your wish.

I put small kolam in front of my house everyday in the morning only.

i put navagraha kolams everyday in a wooden plate kept in pooja room.

Yes thats true Mam as your Dil says U cant put kolam in December... When reading your post i just remember the Jeans film song.. Varoyo thozhi.... Imagining you Putting kolam in US...thanx for Sharing Mam...

And wat is Navagraha kolam.....?? How to put it....?

Giving you some tips as far as I know. Navagraha kolam is gud for the home and for the family. All the seven days of the week has different kolams. You can put Kubera kattam in addition to the navagraha kolam. I used to put the day kolam, kubera kattam and aanjaneyar malai.

I have been in US for 22 years.
Until 2003 I did put rangoli only in Puja Place. During our apartment days it was on the wooden shelf where the idols were placed. Later after buying the Mandasana (wooden temple) its always in their.
In 2003 it all changed. On my trip to India I was told by our family priest that it has been a tradition in my inlaws family of doing puja to the front door along with rangoli on every tuesdays and fridays. Since I was not following the tradition hence all the restlessness in everything. After hearing this I couldnot resist. So since then rain or shine, snowstrom or ice every tueday and friday mornings I clean the front step of the house (which is attached to the door) with water. Deacorate with Rangoli using chalk and apply kumkum, turmeric to the doorstep just like the way my motherinlaw used to.
