Dear Mrs.Chith,
A very much needed post of the hour...
i am really frustated with the daily chores of mine done, only mechanically...
These verses from the Gita prove that God has given us the circumstances to exhaust our vasanas through this work...
From now on, i will keep in mind this theory and move on, so that every work I do, is enjoyable and is also an offering to the Lord...

Cheeniya Sir,
Your eg. of Nayanmars shows that only the purity of the heart counts and not the job they are doing....eventhough in our Puranas, we have a lot of eg. to prove that..we still stick on to the unwanted ideas which are prevelant in the society.
As said by the Lord....the four varnas were born out of Him, and we perform those jobs in our day-to-day lives...which proves that all are created equal..there is no room for arguing that one job is better than the other...except in the payment field..

Dear Sri
Whenever I visited Tiruvannamalai to spend a couple of days in Ramanashram, I used to visit Yogi Ramsurat Kumar who used to live in a small house near the shed of the Temple Car. He was a true Yogi and radiated mysticism from every pore in his body. Nobody knew if he ever took his bath or changed his dress. He was always seen smoking a cheap cigarrette. But even his unkempt look added to his great lustre.
He loved walking the streets like a beggar but when his devotees put up a huge Mantapam for him to conduct his prayers, he felt like a caged parrot. He attained Samadhi a few years back and I can never forget my encounters with him.

If a person has a noble soul, his outward appearance is hardly noticed. It is only those with shady souls that may require flashy dressing up!

Dear Bhargavi,
Never, ever feel, any job is mundane!
Enjoy every activity fully well, as though you are completely involved in it. That does make a difference and you have to experience it yourself.
I hate the word mechanical - we are human and not machines!!
Love,
Chithra.

Dear C and Sri

As usual I have proved to be the late shishya. But I get to see all the questions and both your valuable answers, which gives me an added perspective.

Dear C

A life of dynamic actions is superior to a passive life of inaction sums it all up. The entire post is very inspiring. Coming from a dynamic person who shares with a spirit of joy and dedication makes it all the more valuable.

We are each born into a status, as ordained by our vasanas and God gives us the exact circumstances around us, necessary for the exhaustion of those vasanas
is something I am pondering on. That gives a lot of hope and makes us encounter good and bad times as opportunities to get better by eliminating vasanas. Many thanks C. This is a keeper.

Dear Sri

Thanks for the story on Thirunavukarasar and the emphasis on the fact that no special effort is required to feel the God in and around us.

Performing our tasks with selflessness and detachment may appear daunting but if we understand that all that we do is pre-ordained and part of the Grand Scheme, it becomes that much easier to launch ourselves into a Spiritual journey
This makes me feel very tranquil and hope to remember when I am not selfless. Many thanks for all your responses - they give me a nice perception.

Dear Gayathri
The Nayanmars and the likes of them taught us Spiritualism through their lives. Just watching them in action would teach us a lot more of Spiritualism than hours and hours of a pedagogic Guru who does not practise what he preaches. That is why whenever we feel hunted down, it is recommended that we seek the darshan of a great Spiritual Guru.
I have met some great Gurus who have left a tremendous impression on me but if you ask them any question about Vedantha, they would just blink!

Dear Gayathri,
Why bother at all about being late? I fully accept that with more FBs, understanding becomes easy.
Life is nothing but all about vasanas. Eliminate the vasanas, bad ones, with self-will. Rise above the good ones, so that we will be near self-knowledge.
When you love every action you perform, there is nothing but joy in life.
Next post is all about it!
Oh, Gayathri, today, I am at the "receiving" end in both my forums, of you know what!
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Chithra,

Sorry for late fb....my right arm was hurt....still not alright, but have learnt the use of left hand!in a way i can say that this post was apt....i could not be Inactive for long....so to become active again, i started to train my left hand...and here i am......

......To do them in a spirit of joy, unattachment and dedication. Working with this attitude helps us to release our inhibitions, repressions and other emotional entanglements. Our mental depressions vanish and we become more alert, vigilant and feel blissful and productive."

Act diligently with faith in yourself.
Do not hesitate.
Act nobly with a will to maintain your ideal.

Sunlight, hard work and good exercise are all necessary for the glow of health.
If we live a life of inactivity, maintenance of body in a healthy state is not possible.

All these statements are so true! I just loved all the points you have put forth in this post! As usual i can only say thanks .....

Dear Cheeniya,

Sorry for the late fb.....right arm hurt and could not type, though i have been reading and staying in touch.Liked your explanations on Appa and Nandanar, empahsising the need to derive joy in just perfoming any act! And aso that we need not put in extra affort to feel the divine presence
Quote:
" They considered whatever they did as service to the Lord. To Appar, for example, cleaning the Temple corridors was as sacred as performing Pooja to the presiding deity. While the persons offering worship to the Lord in great pomp and show remained clueless about the Divine Presence, the Lord appeared to His ardent devotees without any special effort on their part. "

The path of spirituality should lead one Inwards.....how true, ..... it is a path of Inward journey and needs no pomp and show and acceptance from others! Lovely post , though needs a lot of thought and constant practise to set ourselves on this Journey!

Dear Sudha,
I was wondering, frankly!!
You are proving that "inaction" in deeds is as much impossible as "inaction" in thoughts!!
Today we will go further and discuss how any action should be done.
Love,
Chithra.

Dear chith
Yet another great post from you chith. You explained so well and simple. So we should stay away from inactivity which is not our way of life. I liked the line “Whether we win or lose, we have grown stronger after the play”. But very rarely we think of it when we face the crisis.
As the title says if we realise the divinity in each chore we do we will be never idle and will look at each chore from different angle. You have explained so well about the divinity of the daily chores that we have to perform without fail.
Love
Vidhi
