Weekend Vacation Places Around Chennai

Hi all,

Planning for weekend(2 days) vacation..

We are looking for spots nearby chennai..to the maximum just spend 4-5 hrs for driving

Stay should be a decent place as few ladies and kids accompany

We thought of Yelagiri hills..But few of them have already visited the place so awaiting for something new

Any resort kind is also OK

Excluding :- Pondichery and Mahabalipuram

If you have not visited, you could check out puliyancholai falls in kolli hills. heard it is a nice place. there are other falls too in the same kolli hills.

you could visit the temples in the surrounding (so many of them) and mukkombu too.

yelagiri has many places that can be explored. If you are going as a group and all are young and active you could try tada. waterfalls. you need to trek. now you can stay in tada in huts. (if you are adventurous and can plan )

I am from Trichy district ..so i am very much used to Puliancholai,Mukombu and kallanai...

Any of the resorts on ECR are a good option!
We stay at Highland Holiday Homes!
This is past Crocodile bank!
Very decent rooms and food too!!

One of my friends told about a place called Amriti Forests near Vellore. Look on it. Also, for a one day trip - a trek to nagalapuram would be good.

pondichery is also a gud place for spending 4-5 hrs. More sea view resorts, vinayakar temple, mother azhram etc are also there. Mother azhram and vinayakar temple are excellent places.

VELLORE is also near by to travel...you can visit SRIPURAM TEMPLE, Vellore fort and to "Hogennekkal Water Falls "
