| | What is your Preference? - Online or Visit? Hi all,
This IL forum is filled with Ladies & Gentleman from Chennai Area. So...all of us are computer & internet savvy
If you had an option to buy your groceries or household items from an online shop, would you prefer it? Or would you still prefer to buy it directly visiting the shops?
Whats your reason?
Would like to hear your comments and views on this.....
Cheers
Jenz

Obviously visit! It is a good option to go see, choose and buy. However, I would really appreciate if there is a option from a well known retail chain - say subiksha or food world that has a online buying system. In this case, it should involve a easy hassle free choosing system that would deliver groceries home directly. Although the acceptance level would be less, it sure would be a

Also, it would be a value if the grocery provider can get anything I ask for in about a day ( even if he has run out of stock). That may make me buy stuff online!

Yes...there is always a nice feeling to see, touch and feel....but then we don't think about this when we are outside India....there possibly most of us prefer to buy it online...or what do you think?
What brings that difference?
Cheers

I'd definitely prefer to go personally and get the things.. I love doing that, mostly take my kids along too.. its an outing for them also. Also gives us chance to check the quality of the product..AS for the case of new brands introduced, you get to see them too. "seeing' does make a difference i guess..

Interesting Thread Jenz, Maybe in a few years people will start doing what you are suggesting. But there is always the quality factor and timing of delivery that's more important. Many a times I have noticed with our neighbour hood grocer, inspite of giving a detailed list, we end up things which we did not specify exactly for. Once the concept goes online then it might be easy to check the prices at the click of a mouse, but the quality of products and also the time of delivery will be a matter of concern. If the online portals can improve that, then yes, its quite a big untapped market.
