Visit to orphanage on March 29, Confirm here!!!!

I called up the RO people today. They have larger machines also, which candispense 5 litres for an hour to 100 litres per hour. Cost will also be according to that- 25 thousand to 35 thousand. I guess our contribution will not come near it.
What do you all want to do?
Donate whatever you want to the HOME as money?

What can we do now? Even if we collect from others will we be able to put up that amount. Let everyone come out with their opinion.
Anyway they need it for their new building isn't it?
We'll collect and see if we can put it up by the time their new building is ready. What do you all say?
Can I request other I lites also to help, by donating a small amount for the noble cause which we I lites from Chennai plan to do at the Good WIll Centre. The inmates will get good water to drink and thereby, good health. My 2cents

My My 2cents about the RO plant donation for the orphanage. Kindly bear with me. I might be wrong too, it is just my thoughts.

From practical stand point of view contributing RO Plant might not be feasible. Reasons being:

• cost of the RO might not be within our limits. Looks like with the response so far, our contribution in money might be around Rs.10,000/- whereas that of a commercial RO Plant suitable for the orphanage might be around Rs.25,000/-
• In the long run the orphanage organizers might find it difficult to maintain the plant. The RO plant would definitely require AMC ( Annual maintanence contract) which might not be feasible for the orphanage people. From practical stand point of view, they might be more keen in utilizing their resources to feed the kids rather than spend the money on maintaining the RO Plant.

There was some experience about this RO plant, I would like to share. In a previous apartment where we were staying, there was RO plant and due to lack of maintenance the plant itself was kept idle. The main reason they were not able to run the RO plant was that there was about 1/3rd wastage of water which could not be used at all. Because of such wastage of water, the ground water was depleted and there was some water scarcity too.

I do not mean to dampen the spirits, it is just my thoughts that RO might not be a viable contribution from practical stand point. May be we can come up with better suggestion.
I am open to suggestions and sure would contribute in whatever possible ways from my end.

This is sindu here sorry its long i have posted, really dont get time, and to say the truth i just felt may be ladies may have some gosip over here but when i came to know about the march 29 th programme i changed my view, i felt bad for thinking that way. really felt happy to know the programme, i will join u all on that day, good that i may meet many of u, looking forward for that day.

A small suggestion from my side, can we all sponsor for the education of a baby girl or boy we will start it this year and let the child get her education through IL . It does not cost much but i feel it will be the best thing we do.We have to just open an account in the name of the perticular child we select and the amount in that account will be used for her educatiion. so that she gets her educatiion without any problem regarding money or they need not depend or call us for fees and other things.This wont cost much, for eg if there are 30 ladies 50 Rs each every month will be more than enough, i think this amount will just be a small part of what we spend every month on snacks.
We will start with one child as we get more sponsor we may go for more children.
this is just what i felt. as i regularly go there and have been with the children .

Yes, what you say is a good idea. I have also been thinking about that. I was planning to find out all the details when we go there.
Do you know the details? You have said about 1500 per child ? Is it per year?
Then I can do one thing. If the RO plan falls through ( looks as if it will now ) I can do that by myself. I have 1500 with me now. I can pay for one child's education may be from June this year.
What do you say? Can we do it together? Please do post all the details or just tell me. Rajmi has got my nos.

Welcome back after a very loooooooooooong time. It is a very nice idea. After the details given by Ms. Varloo, I too feel that it is not possible to go ahead for the RO plant. As on date, let us give the amount we collect to Mr. Basker, but we shall consider of adopting a child, I mean giving her a good education. In this particular thing, even three is not a crowd. MyMy 2cents. I think you know all the details regarding this. Pls post it here. We could start from this June.
