Question Re: Any Info Please

Hi Lasya

Hope u have a very good kolu. The stands are available in quite a few places. Shall send u more details about the address as soon as I ask my SIL who has purchased one. There is a furniture shop in Adyar Sardar Patel Road opposite to Hotel Sangeetha from one side and Ambika Appalam on the other. It is on the turning near Adyar Bus stand signal. They sell stands there.

As regards dolls, the best places are Poompuhar in Mount Road and Kurlagham, where they sell quality dolls, but a little expensive. Less expensive ones may be purchased in Mylapore and T.Nagar markets. Hope this was helpful.

Hi all
I have a query too..
Shanti rekha
Does this shop sell wooden kolu stand with can be fixed easily with screws and dismantled? I would like to purchase one if so.
Shops like Rathna stores sell metallic ones which can be used as normal stand with racks after golu. I have seen a relative of mine who puts it away in the loft after navarathri but admits that it is cumbersome to fix it and remove it later and she depends on her security to do it for her.

Do let us know.
Thanks
Honeybee

hi,

it is of course a tedious job to assemble and dismantle the metallic stand. but for the first time, i hired people from the same shop from which i bought the stand and got it assembled. while dismantling, i marked the stands near the screws and dismantled it myself.

the next time it was very easy for me to assemble with the markings though it took sometime.

regards,

vanaja

Hi lasya

Wishing u a very happy NAVARATRI

hey, u can get those kolu stand everywhere in the city, dont need to worry and about dolls u can go to KURALAGAM ,KHADI CRAFT or BAZAAR RODAS OF MYLAPORE AND TNAGAR

In mylapore there are feew shops selling all the other accessories necessary for Navaratri like MANJAL KUKUM SET with comb, mirror etc full set, even variety of GIFT ITEMS AT ALL RATES and all the decoration items etc etc EVERYTHING U WILL GET THERE. NO DOUBT

Assembling and dismantle of steel stnd not a tough job yar, jus few mts , once in a year. its economical and u can also use that as shelves for other days.
