Dear Chithra Madam
To tell the truth I am not that young to be your 'Pethi' but I would love to be your daughter or younger sister. Living thousands of miles away from my 'Mother India' I am dying for people...

I couldn't make out what Cheeniya Sir was trying to say about Madhumathi. Was he appreciating Vyjayanthimala or Bimal Roy or the innocent mountain stream? Last week we had been to a friends house visiting and watched few scenes from old Tamil movies. We saw padmini dancing for the song 'Nalamthana' and the expressions she showed were amazing. Can't forget those eyes! I don't think height matters. Great things come in small packages... what about Revathi? She is also short but what a talented actress she is?

To settle the matter, I think we both will continue to admire Padmini and let Cheenita Sir praise 'Vyjayanti'. (Did you notice Sir has shortened her name in his post?)

Dear Monifa
I don't always call her Vyjayanthi. I normally call her Vyjoo! But because of Forum Etiquette and all that, I refer to her as Vyjayanthi here! Vyjoo, the mountain stream and Bimalda's deft touches are all synonymous and complement each other!
I too like small packages if they are packaged well but Padmini? Hmm....

Dear Cheeniya,
What a nice way of connecting your bathing experience with Einstein and Newton. It is an art to explain complex theories with simple examples. We had a PhD and just a post graduate to teach us Genetics. We bunked the former's classes while we enjoyed the latter. While talking about trees we know the story of a person resting under a banyan tree.He wonders why such a big tree should have small fruits until a fruit falls on his head but he is saved because the fruit is small.God must have made the fruit small so that weary travellers can rest peacefully under this tree.
Regards
LAKSHIMINARAYANAN

My dear LN
That story about the guy resting under a banyan tree is indeed a profound one and goes to show how inscrutable are the ways of God. Very often, we try to find justification of the things that happen to us with our limited intelligence. Sometimes we make such comments as God has no eyes nor any sense of justice. This story is bound to make us see His actions in the proper perspective.
As children we can't understand the actions of our parents. As we grow up, we can't understand the acts of God. What we need to have is an abiding faith in the powers that guide our destiny like our parents, Teachers and God.

Dear Cheeniya sir,

While the likes of Archimedes and Newton come out with some astounding theories by observing some mundane daily incidents, you come out with astounding and hilarious observations about lowly insects and routine activities!

Sir, I too am a great fan of Vyjayanthimala. She is all beauty and grace. Madhumati and Sangam are my favorites.

What a nice way of connecting your bathing experience with Einstein, Newton, Archemedes, Karthaveeryarjunan and now Vyjayanthi near the mountain stream.
