My dear Kamal
A great topic for the IL Monthly competition! And you are calling ME naughty! Who can come out with such an absorbing debate but you? But seriously, however loving a couple may be, an occasional parting can whip up the sagging emotions.
The typical scenario is this. Wife goes to her place for a couple of weeks. God, what a great feeling of freedom! We hang around in clubs till the wee hours with like minded friends(like you and me). Two days just fly by. Third day, we get up and trudge our way to the kitchen to make our cup of coffee. We take a sip and grimace at the awful taste. The house looks very deserted and the silence is deafening. Fourth day, it is even more horrible. You switch on the TV and watch her favourite serial instead of your favourite sports channel! You make a phone call and when she tells you what a great time she is having with her parents and siblings, you feel stupid. The thought that she is not missing you like you are missing her slices your heart. The feeling of possessiveness shows its ugly head. Start of the second week, you feel you have had enough of this nonsense. You just ring her up and tell her that you have fallen sick and want her back immediately!
Harsha or internet? I am sure you'll say, damn the Internet! Get my Harsha back! I know you only too well, old boy!

Dear Usha
Time and again, we are being cautioned how vulnerable internet users can become. Recently, a Magistrate of Tamilnadu lost all his bank balance in a phishing incident. With all the personal info we keep furnishing about ourselves to all and sundry, we become an open book in public. At this rate, the scenario of George Orwell's 1984 may become a reality though after 25 years! As the IT technology is advancing by leaps and bounds, the attendant risks too increase in geometric proportion. The need for caution in using the Internet is getting more and more acute.
Internet is like Nuclear power. It can kill millions. It can sustain a million lives. The choice is ours!

Thanks a lot for the extremely interesting video clips. How inadequate Musharaff sounds in response to Farook Abdullah! And that student attacking him was really classic!

Did I disappoint you? But read my reply to Kamalji. You may get some consolation!

My dear LN
No one can belittle the role of Internet in strengthening the family bonds particularly when it is no more possible for the entire family to live in a large haven as in the past. Children go scurrying all over the globe but the internet has shrunk the globe to the size of a ping pong ball!
Internet has become such a vast resource for collecting information on any subject of the world. I remember my young days when I used to be a regular visitor to the old book stalls of Moore Market for getting further references on my subjects of study. The Connemera Library used to be Mecca for us.
You are lucky to get a few grains from the chaff. Mine is nothing but chaff!

Dear Sri,
This time u read mu wrong, dear friend.I follow the same routine, no outing with friends, they are stuck with wives u see.But what i love is having the double bed to myself, where i can sleep diagnally, and not be told not to snore, or go brush yrself, where i can put the AC on full blast.
And i have good maids who cook well, and i can watch the choice of my TV.oi like to wactch old CD of old movies, the rajkapoors Sangam, Dil Ek Mandir etc, which she does not want to watch.
So when she is not around, i have a ball at home, and tell her take yr time.
This could make for an interesting subject Sri on Indus.HAHA
let us see what the ladies have to say to this, they should praise me, for allowing harsha her freedom, but i know i will get brickbats.Awaiting yr visit dear freind.
Regards
kamal

Dear Sir,
Another good one. We all get those stupid mails about lottery. Did you really write to them about that tea stall? Well I do not delete jokes i like them. But true about the superstitious ones. Poor Yayati wasn't lucky.
One more kind of fwd i receive so many times is about helping someone ill/met with accident. Poor people remain same age for years while the mails keep circulating.
Regards,
Vaidehi

The title "What will i do without you?" attracted me to the thread as much as your name. It reminds me of the famous dialouge in Bond films where both Bond and M say to Moneypenny "What will I do without you?"

Dear Vaidehi
I did write to a Nigerian thug about the Tea Stall to see how far he would go! The dialogue between us reached such a stage that he probably thought that he has finally found a gullible sucker in me when I felt that enough was enough. I asked him to get lost and marked him as scam!
These cheats come in all shapes and sizes the minimum being $1 million. Many want to bequeath their huge deposits to Indian Charitable organisations through some gullible Indian. They never talk about their need until a few letters are exchanged.
I gave this title to my thread to ensure that readers get attracted. I know that my topic this time is rather dull!

Dear cheeniya
Internet has become like cable tv now those who know how to use it do stick to it we did survive prior to internet isnt it ? so dont worry you would be perfectly well even without it
I do like writing letters on perfumed letter pads and posting them labelling "sWaK" to my hubby than sending a mail waiting for the mail to reach and return when i run my fingers on the old old mails twenty years later also i feel the memories fresh with internet its all artificial for me
yes its a boon no doubt but still it has lead to so many heart aches & head aches to millions its spoiling younger generation with lots of unnecesary info with is available freely
sitting miles away we do get connected over a small virtual world its wonderful , makes friends foes, but still its doubtful... no one knows where your mails are stored who is hacking what where when ...
