Dear PVS
Thanks a lot for your warm words of appreciation. I am touched.
The incident that you have quoted about your friend talking on the phone without bothering to check the available balance was certainly not a deviation from what I intended to convey. On the contrary, it is truly in line with my thinking. If ants had a phone, that's what they would have done too. Ants are not selective about what to worry and what not to worry. They just have no capacity to worry. Period.

Humans have a great capacity to worry. And ladies are far ahead of men in this particular field. I am not saying this. I am just quoting the numero uno of the site, Mme.Chitvish, in her latest blog, Worry, thy name is woman!

It is a fallacy that halwa, whether it is Tirunelveli or elsewhere, tastes better with more stirring. I have seen people stirring it violently and literally whipping up a storm and yet the end product will be 'beady' and highly viscous! Next time when you make halwa and the door bell rings, don't get unduly worried. In any case, if you are an expert in 'giving halwa', it hardly matters how it looks or tastes!

Dear Cheeniyasir,

Your forum is my own haven of escapism. When reality gets too heavy, flee to Cheen's forum where there is always something to entertain and jolt your thinking cells into action.

The title alone was enough to get me busy as an ant and I don't know if your unfortunate ants enjoyed the janmashtami prasadam as much as I did reading your post?!

Even as you started off with your comments on Hindu, I was wondering as to where this rambling would finally lead us to. Hindu may be just a comfortable habit for most of us which we do not want to get rid off fearing the change. After all, old is gold and who knows what new brings?

Same goes with the future. Why worry about what's in it, best to enjoy the present with all its positives and negatives! Life is precious and every moment should be cherished.

For now, I cherish this post but cannot help wondering what more do you have for us in future?!!!

L, Kamla

Dear Kamla
It is tough for an aging auntie to emulate a hyperactive antie but the 'usually reliable sources' (to quote a cliched phrase of The Hindu) tell me that you are neither aging nor an auntie! So the part about your swinging into action like an ant on seeing my title sounds credible to me!

"Hindu may be just a comfortable habit for most of us which we do not want to get rid off fearing the change." How true that statement is! I now understand the hold that awful paper has on us. It is tough to look beyond it for the fear what may be lurking there for us!

The fear of future blinds our vision of the present. All around us there is so much to marvel at. Like the Policeman halting the traffic for a tiny pup to cross the road. Rainbows are not merely in the sky. Often they are so close that you can touch them.

And need I say this again? Your FBs are always special! To get them, I'll keep writing again and again!
Sri
