This is a great post… I wanted to reply to this post long time back… But due to want of time… I kept on postponing… Sorry….

I love this series of movies, Dr.Dolittle… It is great and I used to wonder… If people have such great powers or whatever u call it to understand and talk to animals… Great…

I have told you before that you resemble my dh in your thoughts so much.. here to I found it..especially in your line that Physical appearance is not as important and to look past that and at the real person..

First things first. I too have this habit of looking past beautiful women if there are more beautiful women behind them! But I must clarify one point. Window shopping does not cost us any money and all this looking at and looking beyond are all like window shopping. It is just some kind of fodder for our aesthetic senses! But that advice that the horse gives is based on its own reckoning of men! That is why common sense is referred to as 'horse sense'!

That bit of advice that the dog gives is a very practical one. The dog knows that Veettukku veedu vaasappadi'! If it is not the wife putting him on the mat, it would be the boss in his office. A stressed man certainly needs an amiable dog to destress himself. He cant obviously do it with a street dog! That's why you'll find the dog owners always at peace with themselves.

Physical appearance is not important in the sense that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. This only implies that no matter how the physical appearance is there will be people who will find that person attractive.

But tell me, is it possible to look at the real person in everyone that we interact with in our day to day life? Looking at the real person is not all that easy in these days of sycophancy. But let us not forget that face is the index of the mind. However beautiful a person is, if his heart is bad, it will be seen very clearly. A beautiful heart makes a not so beautiful person very attractive indeed as in the case of Mother Teresa.
