Dear Cheeniya,

So from the world of peis and bhootams you have arrived at the Animal kingdom.....so will the next one be on the World of Blooms!? What with spring on its way!

Kudos to you , for the way you let things and situations to influence u to write such lovely posts! And loved all the fb's. You seem to have inspired all the animal lovers here to come up with such interesting dialogues!

My daughter has moved to a house now, and tehre her room mates have a cute dog and cat. She is always talking to them, and she imagines the replies by the way they look at her .......but all said and done dogs are such compassionate creatures, with such doleful looking eyes! and cats look like the prim and proud ones!

Dear Sri,
A "single track" mind at 65 + - unbelievable !
You have some high hopes of being chased even at this age!
Well, you wrote in this forum a few months back that dogs can instinctively find out those who are dog haters and will start chasing them ! But, you, even at this ripe age you still think of "s---t chasing" only!
Let me tell you tha svelte-looking ladies of my age come dressed in track-suits, pants and salwar kameez & do you think men stop "doing their expected job" ?They do it merrily, because not all couples walk in the same pace.So there is enough "privacy" for the man to ogle at figures!!

Again you repeat in your reply, what you seem to be doing
unprintable expletive uttered by a lazy bird on being woken up by his DW!
Oh, please, spare my friend.
FYI, in my house, the reverse happens, your friend being the earliest riser in our building. But it is no "expletive", but a merry "Goodmorning" from me.

Love,
Chithra.

When you say that you hear birds singing Suprabhatham before sunrise, I can see your blissful ignorance of animal and bird language. You seem to think that anything that sounds sweet has to be necessarily good and sweet. What you perceive as suprabhatham may really be some unprintable expletive uttered by a lazy bird on being woken up by his DW!

Your camaraderie with the lizards at home is really heart warming!

AC Narads,
My friend strongly believes in
Sarve janaa sukhino bhavanthu
He is not narrow minded to think that janaa means only human beings (like some ignorant people). He knows the word "janaa" includes all living creatures. Don't you agree birds come under that category? So, oats will reduce cholestrol, now that Nivedi has proved the birds' awareness about that point.

Lazy Bird will not rhyme with Vish for the reason, I have mentioned in my post to my friend (as per your mention).
For once, you are not doing your Naradi Home Work properly, bonk
but doing it miserably as well !Rant

Love,
Chithra.

Hello Sir,

Now a day you are out with topics which are really dear to my heart.

I really miss keeping a pet at house due to restrictions around. You are right dogs are more human than humans. They provide us a round clock security. Where in the world we ordinary people will get this security?

They are very possessive on their masters. But even in this they are something different from humans. They don't behave like what possessive husbands behave in films.

Dear Ramya
I should say that you have a way with words and you dress up your thoughts in beautiful words. If you are such a lover of cats, then I strongly recommend that you get hold of Chronicles of Clovis, a collection of short stories by Saki. And while hunting for this book, if you can get hold of 'The Unbearable Bassington' by the same author. Both are indeed awesome creations.

The fact that the cat spilled ink on your notebook is precisely the way the feline community execute their acts of revenge! I am not as fond of cats as I am of dogs for the simple reason that cats are finicky about their cleanliness. They mess around others' places only to prove how contrasting is their spotless cleanliness. The emptying of the ink bottle on your desk is one of the ways they go about their diabolic plan!

My other major objection to cats is their ravenous hunger. They consume almost everything from milk to rats and that they use the same mouth for everything! That's one of the reasons why a strict vegetarian would object to a cat's presence in the kitchen. It is not my intention to hurt your feelings by my harangue against the cats but I believe in calling a spade a spade!

I look forward to your dreamy encounters with animals!
Sri

Dear AC
It is a singular honour that you come out with long and very interesting FBs to my threads. Whether I motivate you to write such FBs or you motivate me to write on offbeat subjects is quite akin to the chicken and egg riddle!

I am happy that the feline visitors to your backyard are not as dumb as Tom and are able to keep the Jerrys away unlike him! But have you ever analysed what is so special about your backyard that it attracts the neighbourhood animals like a magnet? I am sure that you will come out with some exciting findings like the spirit of Walt Disney is present there or something like that! If you do, please share it with us.

It is interesting that the four legged fellow beings flock to your legs like the Jews flocking to the Wailing Wall! I cant say what makes them come to you but as a person with a little knowledge about animal psychology, I know that they feel very comfortable with anything that gives them a feeling of stability!

The ornithologist in you must be feeling annoyed with the kind of reaction from other members of your family. It is adding insult to injury that your DH equates the lowly mosquitoes with birds just because they too can fly! How tough life can be at times!

Squirrels are living parasites in the sense that they revel on feeding on what is justly due to others. The way they go about it, I wonder at times if Lord Rama committed an error of judgement in gracing them with those lines on their backs!

Dear AC
I know for sure that my friend Vish wakes up when the Sun is somewhere near the Andamans! So the lazy bird can never be a reference to him! But the first one about Oats is truly inspired by Her Highness! I mentioned Oats because of its reputation as a cholesterol buster and not because it is the pivot of all her recipes!

Dear Sudha
I am yet to decide if my next thread should be on Blooms or bloomers! Both are dear to my heart! And thanks for those words of praise. I can never have enough of them!

I am happy at the peaceful coexistence of a dog and a cat at your daughter's house. They are supposed to have a perennial bone of contention. You are right about the doleful eyes of the dogs and they know that it is the best way to attract people. I dont feel very comfy with cats because of their air of superiority!

In fact, I had a colleague by name Prithvi in mid sixties. He used to be so popular with girls always and seemed to attract them like the Pied Piper attracting the rats! When I asked him the secret of his success with girls, he said that he always looked lost and utterly beaten when the girls were around. He perfected the technique of bringing out that doleful look effectively in his eyes. That, according to him, was the secret of his success with the girls!

Dear Chithra
I wrote that bit about chasing by the dogs because I a happen to know a little bit of canine psychology. They have their strict code that they never chase anyone who can not run. They have as much consideration for senior citizens as our Hon'ble Finance Minister, P.Chidambaram!

I too 'ogle' at old ladies coming attired in outfits as you describe not because that they are worth ogling at. You may call it a pensive look expressive of my feeling about how nice such an outfit will look on much younger persons. The ladies who are desperate to put the Time Machine in the reverse gear by such methods make me look at them with great pity which you unfairly describe as 'ogling'!
