Dear Cheeniya sir ,
So true are your words : “ Sweet memories get sweeter but painful memories become less painful.” Life’s experiences teach us to perceive things in a positive angle . We attain maturity ( gnanam) only through bitter experiences & learn to take things easier .And its that maturity that makes sweet memories get sweeter & painful memories become less painful . ( Sorry sir - i won't blabber anymore ! Kindly bear with me !)

Quote:
Warm memories keep our hearts from freezing. Warmer memories keep our hearts glowing. It is a glowing heart that gives a twinkle to the eyes till our dying day

. I ‘ve seen that twinkle in my grandpa’s eyes who was always sharing his warm memories with me . He was working as the headmaster in Sethupathy high school . As soon as i would return from school , i would just run to him to hear him talk about his sweet memories or anything that happened under sun . He was a very knowledgable & an extremely affectionate person who lived only for others' happiness ! I admired him & acquired so many good qualities( which i 'm trying to practice in life ) from my dear grandpa ! Golden period !

Quote:
When we were in PresidencyCollege he fell in love, as was customary in our days, with a junior student by name Abhirami.
‘- was that customary only in YOUR days ? – From Adam & Eve's period till date it continues to happen , I hope ! Only the intensity is likely to vary from person to person ! What say you , sir ?

Quote:
“our Kumar came rushing to the spot and without any hesitation put his hand into the closet and took the half dead squirrel into the warmth and comfort of his large palm. The fully soaked creature was gasping and trembling. Kumar rubbed its back tenderly like Lord Rama and fed it with some warm milk.”-
I just melted on reading these lines ! Jeeva kaaruNyam to the core ! No wonder, Abhirami fell in love with him on the spot !
Chithra’s fb :
Quote:
F Y I, I have already had a surgery in my jaw after which I smile more confidently & happily!!
Your reply :
Oh, you needed a surgery to be able to smile?! It's one of those rarest of rare cases!
I liked ur funny comment so much sir !

Seems sudha has played naradhi’s role this time ! Nicely koluthified & nicely vedichified ! Chithra ‘s arguments are nice & ur sarcastic replies are extremely enjoyable ! I like oats more now as it takes place in almost all ur posts & entertain us terribly !
With regards ,
Indhu.

I guess the 'another C' finds oats a stale subject to go on attacking. She'll perhaps come with a fascinating and novel way to chindumudinjify!
I agree with you that it is an art!

Dear Indhu
A very enjoyable Fb!
You have a strong point when you say that only the bitter memories give us the maturity and it is this maturity that makes sweet memories sweeter and painful memories less painful. In retrospect, I too tend to agree with your view that we hardly learn anything out of sweet memories and only bitter memories make us wiser! It is like gold passed through fire.

Your reminiscences of your grandpa are themselves very sweet! Most people of that generation had sterling qualities that endeared them to us. But in the modern times, the need to survive in a highly competitive world is making us more and more complex. We are becoming increasingly enigmatic. These attributes take us away from people.

I am not suggesting that romancing was exclusively a past virtue! But the life style today has robbed romance of all romantic qualities! I wont know what Shakespeare and the like would have done if they were alive today with immortal lovers like Romeo and Juliet dancing their way to glory in swank night clubs to the frenzied beats of drugged drummers!

Dear Sri,

Sorry for the delayed response… You have said…

Everyone beyond forty or thereabout is bound to have some memories of childhood and youth. – I have just crossed forty 5 days back… So I qualify to recollect only now… hahahahahahahahahahaha… I am just joking…

Maybe in films, people wait for three generations to avenge a wrong done to their great grandparents but in reality, it does not happen that way.

I object your defaming the film Industry… You are shaking the very core of the FI… If they don’t project generations of anger and avenging… then how will the movie run… The people who have invested in that, how will they recover their investment…. This is not correct… Secondly you are also asking for logics… This is not fair…

Personally speaking from experience, when people are angry… I have seen them not talking or mingling for decades… This is mainly because, they feel they are let down… Here only the emotion speaks and rationale doesn’t work…

The abhirami/kumar love story is great… The first love will always be fresh in your mind and you will remember for ever… Whatever be the age, you will still have the pangs for your first love…

Since my DW will be in Chennai by next Saturday and she will be reading all your posts, I will avoid writing about my 1st, 2nd…nth love affairs…. Hahahahahaha…..

Dear Veda
Are you planning to produce a movie like 'Yadon ki Baarat' where three sons reunite through a song that their mother used to sing to them when they were infants and avenge the murder of their father after two decades?! You cant nurse your anger even for an hour. How can you conceive some character in a film who would keep his rage aflame for thirty years while singing duets with a bulky girl whenever he gets time? Dont go taking such risks.
1st, 2nd... and nth? May be you can spin a yarn about your 1st or 2nd love but taking it upto nth is too much of a job for you. You are a romba nalla paiyyan. You cant even imagine such affairs !

Dear Veda
What do you mean by 'Thanks for saying nalla paiyyan. But you forgot that I am more romantic at heart". Being romantic at heart does not make one 'romba ketta paiyyan' If that is so, I'll rank numero uno in the bad boys' list!
Face is the index of the mind. I have seen your face at close quarters. Adhu onnum kovam vara moonji madiri teriyale! My face reading never goes wrong either!
