I love the way you have quoted from Sundara Kandam to Frankie S- looks like boozing has had divine and contemporary sanction, if not blessing. Dear Vidya
That's pure champagne I should say with all those golden bubbles which only you can cause! And these bubbles are of the everlasting variety!
Kamal and I are like long lost brothers who meet in the climax singing yaddon ki bhaarat save that our reunion is courtesy IndusLadies! And we seem to prefer the vintage booze songs of Hindi movies of the fifties!

I thought that it called for a celebration and hence my post!

Midway through your FB, I was transferred to the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam for what you have written bore a strong resemblance to his:

"Come, fill the Cup, and in the Fire of Spring
The Winter Garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but a little way
To fly--and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing."

Kamal, that Mujhe Duniya walo song appears to be your favourite booze song. Mine is from Dilip Kumar's Yahudi- Jaahid sharaab peene de maszid me baith kar warna wo jagah bataa de jahaan Khuda na ho...Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hum

Dont you worry Kamal. When you are in Chennai, I'll make you feel as though you are in Scotland! If you so desire, I can try to dress up in a Scottish Kilt too!
God bless you and your family!

Cheeniya Sir,

Both you and Kamalji spill your glass of humour all around IL and intoxicate readers like me in laughter. Any day such a kind of intoxication is most welcome. Kamalji is not only giving us his brand of humor, he is also dragging in many other good writers along the way.

I join you all in raising a toast of humor to Kamalji!

Cheers!

Good article, any community - virtual or real needs people who are a good sport, take things lightly and view the glass as half full.

Knowing Kamalji he would not mind a toast, heck he will settle for 2 or 3 BL toasts. Kamalji you are a good sport and keep us entertained with some very interesting observations.

Dear Nivedi
Glass of humour is a well coined phrase that fits our Kamal like a glove! Nothing intoxicates like laughter does! And kudos to him, he has also brought in a veritable crop of excellent writers like Uncannybal, Balajee and Bhiku. IL is certainly beholden to him for this contribution.

Dear Bhiku
Thank you for stepping in and joining in our toast to Kamal.
It is said that every man meets his match somewhere in his life and Kamal will meet his match when he steps into Chennai in February!
A toast in anticipation of that!

Dear Cheeniya Sir

What a stupendous piece!!!! I enjoyed every line of it Sir. A toast really does'nt call for a reason..Especially living here in the US, there is party always for no reason, when you reach work on time, when you feel slothful to cook, when your superior says 'Great job!!' and what not..Also living in a small town here, its a perfect way for an assemblage....

I really enjoyed the entire narration about the Toast culture from the 20th century to the 2000's. Specially loved the narration of the sundara Kandam. Thanks Sir..

And a Wassail for a Special person like Kamalji needs no reason!!!!!

Regards
Vidya

Dear Vidya
How true you are! To be happy doesn't really need a reason. There are thousands of reasons out there to feel joyful and yet we go about with a magnifying glass looking for reasons to be unhappy like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot looking for clues!

I toasted to Kamalji as he looked to me to be a simple man who felt happy about everything as his news analysis would show!

It is indeed nice of you to have joined the gang of toasters!
Sri

Dear Nivedi,

Thanks for yr kind words.I try to remain cheerful always, bcs I believe “ Even this shall pass”.All troubles pass away soon, so why worry, just face them with a smile. And I try to make others cheerful with some silly observations of mine.

And I will be bringing in quite a few others, they are in the pipeline, the bloggers I mean.they don’t know what is Indus, till they taste it when they come.

Im glad u all liked my choice of bloggers, and I must thank Sunkan to have brought me here, she was after me for a long while, and I coukldnt refuse my Sis, and she also approached Bhiku before me, so she is the one who brought him here, I approached him later, as I came to know. Thanks Sunkan, bring more friends here, and their blogs light up Indus, and we are now with less of “ How should I deal with my MIL” type of blogs to more humour based blogs, which lighten up everyone’s mood first thingin the morning.

A Toast to u, and all I tlites.
Regards.kamal
