That's my boy! But dont you know that in a party, people who do not drink have a lot more fun watching the amusing behaviour of the drinkers? Watch the fun to your heart's content! Sri

With someone like you standing guard, our toast to Kamalji will not be a feeble chorus but an earth shattering thunder and he deserves it too! Like Winston Churchill said, I too have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me in building friendships! And I join you in your warm toast to all our ILites! Sri

| Dear Sri Sir, What a research you have done on Celebrating............. I don't want reasons to celebrate. I met chitvish, i celbrated and speaking to you was also a reason to celebrate. So at the drop of the hat I celebrate but in my my own way. This Sundara Kandam was too good but like your advice we are also like Hanuman just enjoying others celebrating with a mug and we watching their funny antics. That will be the great reason to celebrate..... But now I am going to celbrate with all IL's here because you have made a come back after a long time and so is your brother....... ![]() ![]() ![]()

I feel overjoyed when I meet people who need no reason to celebrate and I am happy that you are one of them! As someone said, let us stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy our journey! As Ophra says, the more we celebrate, the more will be the reasons to celebrate! Now that I have heard your voice, I have more reasons to celebrate! Sri

| Dear Sri, What can I say, but that I am touched by your toast, and the response of all the I Lites here. For once im speechless really.Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, and what a toast. You have raised me from the bottom to the top.and now being morning, I cant even raise tht glass but a cup of tea as toast.Cheers. Sri, I always look to have a party. For me being alive every morning, and being able to walk in the Garden, to relish that cup of tea with sugar, to eat and drink what I like, if that is not heaven, and a reason to celebrate , then what is ? And I celebrate bcs I don’t have any desires left, the worldly ones that is.I am still satisfied with my 12 year old Esteem, the 6 year old Van, and the 29 year old Wife of mine.I don’t desire anything new.HAHA. And look at today.BJP has declared a Bandh, and being a BJP ruled state, today all shops are closed. So we all friends will play cards in the afternoon as we do every Sunday for the last 20 years, as also on Holi,Diwali and other days, as also Bandh Days, like today. So what is painful for others, is a celebration for me.And if u ask me what i like more, tea time or Whiskey time, u will be surprised at the answer.the morning tea, sitting with Tuffy at my feet, wife next to me, the birds chirping while I have biscuits with tea and reading the 3 newspapers in silence, is heavenly. And I pray to God to have goods friends like Sri here, who may outlive me for 50 eyars, and love and respect from the esteemed I Lites here, who have become family to me, and some whom I will meet very soon. And Sri, I will meet u in Feb in Chennai, with my wife and daughter to attend a wedding, and for which I have to go, that will be heaven to meet my dear Friend Sri, and take up his offer of Scotch.Sri u know that if u give me a peg to drink, the gates of heaven will open for you, to a deluxe air conditioned apartment for you and family,So don’t be miserly in giving me a drink. That is for yur good health.HAHA. And all the quotes that u have quoted in yr blog, made my day, and will now make me feel less guilty. And I will rub it in to Harsha and show her yr blog, and say MUJHE DUNIYA WALON SHARABI NA SAMJHO, MAIN PEETA NAHIN HOON, SRI NE PILAYI HAI. Thank u Sri and thank u I lites for the love that u have given me, how can I ever forget it. Regards.kamal |

| Dear Cheeniyasir, I saw my favourite person in IL dedicating a blog of honour to my favourite writer in IL and I had to jump in. Where else, but in IL, can we see two bon vivants of life celebrating the mere fact of being? And IL can celebrate that she has two such eminient writers in her folds. I love the way you have quoted from Sundara Kandam to Frankie S- looks like boozing has had divine and contemporary sanction, if not blessing. And I join my honest co-mod Kamla, in raising a glass of bubbles in the spirit of IL-hood!! regards Vidya |

You dont have to be so profusely thankful to me for having written what my heart dictated about you. In my 65 years, I have not captured even 65 hearts ie at the rate of a heart per year but you, in just under a year in IL, have captured so many hearts here. I thought that it called for a celebration and hence my post! Midway through your FB, I was transferred to the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam for what you have written bore a strong resemblance to his: "Come, fill the Cup, and in the Fire of Spring The Winter Garment of Repentance fling: The Bird of Time has but a little way To fly--and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing." Kamal, that Mujhe Duniya walo song appears to be your favourite booze song. Mine is from Dilip Kumar's Yahudi- Jaahid sharaab peene de maszid me baith kar warna wo jagah bataa de jahaan Khuda na ho...Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hum Dont you worry Kamal. When you are in Chennai, I'll make you feel as though you are in Scotland! If you so desire, I can try to dress up in a Scottish Kilt too! God bless you and your family! Sri
